Tequila Shots

The whole time I worked, my glance always slid away to Alex. The blonde woman, Valerie, seemed to be enjoying herself, laughing at his corny jokes. But his gaze met mine, sending a silent look my way that was charged with a certain electricity. I felt the jolt of it all the way down to my bones. For a moment the air hummed with something that wasn’t music or alcohol.
