Chapter 11
It was positive..I couldn't believe it. There go my dreams, I thought.
"It will be ok." Kasey said.
"No, it wont." I said while crying.
"Call Ethan, hun." She said.
I sighed and grabbed my phone. Before I dailed his number, I calmed myself down a bit.
"Hello?" Ethan asked when he answered the phone.
"Hey.." I said.
"Hey babe."
"Can you come over?"
"Yeah, why?" He asked
"I need to tell you something, but I want to do it face to face."
"Ok, i'll be there soon."
"Ok." I hungup the phone and looked at Kasey. "He's coming over."
"Want me to leave?"
"No, stay. Just go in the guest bedroom and chill there for a little bit."
A couple minutes later Ethan and I were sitting on my bed.
"What is it?" He asked
I looked down at my hands, starting to cry.
"Babe...did you cheat on me? Are you breaking up with me? What?"
"I'm pregnant." I looked at him
"What?"
"You heard me, Ethan."
"Oh..."
"Are you going to leave?"
"No, I'm not."
"Really?" I asked.
"Really. It's my baby and i love you."
I smiled. "I have to tell my parents."
"That you do."
So, I told my parents and they flipped out. The next person I have to tell is my director. He's going to kill me.
When rehearsals came the next day I walked up to Mr. O'Haire.
"Can I talk to you?" I asked
"Sure." He walked into the hallway and I followed him. "Whats up?"
"Um, yesterday I found out that I'm pregnant."
"You're kidding right?" He asked.
"No..."
He sighed. "The show is in a month, do you think you can handle it?"
"If you give me less complicated dance steps, yeah." I said.
"We'll work on that, ok?"
I nodded. "Ok."
We walked back into the auditorium and I sat down in one of the seats. Mr. O'Haire walked on stage and clapped his hands to get everyone's attention.
"So, we're going to make some changes. Ashlynn is going to need less complicated dance steps because of something that has happened. Daniel and Alex, I'm sure you could help out with that."
"Why does she get different steps?" Carly yelled out.
"Yeah, that's not fair!" Bobbi chimed in.
"I'm pregnant! Thats why!" I yelled.
The auditorium grew quiet.
"Then why dont you just quit the musical?" Bobbi asked. "We don't need you."
"You're just mad because she's the lead." Kasey yelled.
"No, i'm not!" Bobbi yelled back.
"Yes you are! You tried to sabotage her audition!" Kasey yelled.
"Enough!" Mr. O'Haire yelled out. "I know it's not fair but she's not going to quit, we need her and we're not putting her baby at risk."
"I don't think she even deserves this part." Bobbi said.
I got up and left the auditorium. Kasey followed and I bumped into Ethan.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Ethan asked.
"I just found out what everyone thinks of me."
