Who Knew

National Disaster

Piper decided to get some cleaning done while she waited on Jacob to return for their date. She placed the whites into the washer. She licked over her lips as she folded some clothes that were in the dryer. It wasn't hard to run a house hold. She and Paul weren't too bad about messing up the house, though she knew it might possibly get harder when school went back in full force.

Piper heard the phone ringing, and she ran out of the laundry room and into the kitchen.

"Hello?"

"Hey baby."

"Hey Jake. You aren't calling to cancel on me, are you?" She asked.

"Nope, I'm still coming over babe. But I don't think we should leave the reservation. There might be a possibility that the pack will need me so I need to stay near. But I'll fill you in on that when I get there, okay?"

"Okay, Jake."

"I'll be over there in a couple of hours. Why don't you have us a couple of movies ready?"

"I will."

With that she hung up the phone and decided she might as well get herself a quick shower. She wasn't going to get all dressed up when all they planned on doing was staying at home. She showered, and then changed into a black t-shirt, and a pair of red pajama pants. Her hair was tossed up into a messy bun where it could dry.

She decided that it was time to wake Paul up. He had to leave to go patrol soon, and she figured he would want to eat a bite and call his imprint before he left. She opened the door and walked inside his room. It looked like a national disaster, but that was nothing new. Paul never cleaned his room. She tapped him on the bare shoulder, and watched as he buried his face even further under the pillow.

"Paul, you need to wake up."

"Go away." He mumbled.

"Don't you want to eat and call Kathy before you head out tonight?"

She didn't know whether it was her mentioning Kathy or the food that got him stirring, but he was up quickly, pulling a pair of worn jeans over his boxers. She walked out of the room and down the stairs. She warmed him up some left overs from the night before and placed them on the kitchen table, as she walked over and began washing up some dishes.

"Jake called. We're just staying here tonight. Something to do with the pack."

"Yeah, I think some other vampires are near the reservation. We caught another scent. Male this time, and it wasn't a Cullen." Paul said, in between chomping down on the food.

"Anything to be worried about?" Piper asked.

"All vampires are something to be worried about. I think they've caught our scent though. They aren't coming as close to the reservation. But we just want to be sure."

Piper nodded her head and allowed her brother to eat in peace. She really hated the fact that vampires existed. She was constantly worried for her brother and boyfriend's safety. She washed up the dishes once her brother was finished. She couldn't help but to smile as she heard him talk to his imprint on the phone. He was truly changing into a better person because of Kathy. She was bringing out the best in Paul.

She was tossing through her DVD collection when Paul came down the stairs, "I'm leaving, Piper. I'll be back sometime tomorrow morning. Jake's probably staying the night though. You'll be safe."

Her brother kissed her cheek and then disappeared out the front door. She sighed, as she fell down on the floor and began sorting even further into the DVD collection. She found quite a few movies that caught her interest, but she wanted something Jacob would enjoy as well. She smiled when she came across the movie 'Joy Ride'. It was one of her favorites, and even most guys enjoyed it as well.

She placed all of the other DVDs back inside the entertainment center, and then stood up. She placed Joy Ride in the DVD player and got it ready to push play. She then walked into the kitchen and took out a bag of popcorn and placed it in the microwave.

Once the popcorn was finished, she placed it into a large bowl and then took it along with two cold soda's into the living room. She placed it down on the coffee table, and then picked up a lighter and began walking around and lighting the candles to give the room a hint of vanilla scent. By the time the last candle came to life, there was a knocking on the door. She smiled, and then walked over and pulled the door open.

"Hi baby." Jacob greeted her with a warm smile.

He saw Piper standing there in a t-shirt and pajama pants and couldn't help but to keep smiling. She looked so beautiful, even without all the make-up caked on her face. She had a very natural beauty that surrounded her. He walked over to the couch and sunk down on the couch. He saw the large bowl of popcorn and grinned seeing extra butter, which was his favorite.

"This is going to be a perfect date." She said, walking over and taking a seat on the couch beside him.

He pulled her into his arms and kissed the crown of her head, "I'm sure it'll make up for our first."

She smiled, "Sure hope so."

He held her close, and the two of them snacked on popcorn as the movie played before their eyes. Piper loved being in Jacob's arms. It was such a warm and comforting feeling. She was so comfortable, and never wanted to move from the current position. But then she heard a knocking on the door.

"Probably just Paul." She mumbled, standing up and walking over to the door. She pulled it open to reveal Bella Swan standing there in a hideous plaid top.

"Is Jacob here?" Bella asked.

Piper rolled her eyes, "Baby, it's for you." She said with an attitude. Bella Swan had managed to ruin date number two as well.

Jacob walked towards the door and looked at Bella with burrowed brows. "What is it Bella?"

"I had to come here to warn you. You need to tell the rest of the pack as soon as possible. An army of vampires are coming, Jacob!" Bella said.

"What are you talking about?" He asked, pulling her into the house.

Piper was no longer concerned with Bella ruining their date. She wanted to know what she had to say.

"Alice had a vision. She sees an entire army of vampires coming our way. I think that's the scents your pack has been picking up. We believe their looking for me and the Cullen's."

"Why would they be looking for you?"

"Remember the story I told you about the vampire named James in Phoenix?"

"Yeah. . ."

Piper just watched as they held down a conversation. She was clueless, but she didn't care. She was so thankful for Bella coming to inform Jacob of this.

"Well, he had a mate. Edward thinks she's probably seeking revenge for him killing James."

"I need to warn the pack." Jacob said, turning to look towards Piper, "I'll be right back, okay?"

Piper nodded her head, and watched as he disappeared out the front of the house, leaving her standing there with Bella Swan.
