Seven Days

First Show

As he paced around the front lounge, Kennedy couldn't help but be nervous. Try as he might to blame his nerves on the upcoming show, he knew fully well it was Andrea making him as crazy as he was. He'd been stunned upon their initial meeting, and she'd even looked cute in her pajamas earlier that morning, but the idea of her actually putting thought into her wardrobe was sending his hormones in a whirl.

"She doesn't seem like the type that would take this long." John commented as he once again stomped Jared in Guitar hero. The other guys had been playing Call Of Duty 4, but after Andrea had lectured Garrett about taking care of himself and placing him under official quarantine, they'd moved onto another game system.

"Maybe she needs a little help?" Garrett suggested, sending a wink in Kennedy's direction. Kennedy rolled his eyes and pretended to ignore Garrett's hidden implications.

"You're supposed to make that joke when girls are taking clothes off, not putting them on." John sighed as he got up and knocked Garrett upside the head. He then handed Pat his guitar and walked over to the door of the bunks, knocking gently.

"Yes?" Andrea's timid voice called through the door.

"Are you doing okay in there?" John asked, jumping back suddenly as a crash sounded behind the door.

"Oh, yeah. I'm... fine." She replied, though not sounding entirely convincing. Jared, Pat and Garrett tried to contain their laughter, and even Kennedy was repressing a grin as John placed his hands on his hips, trying to decide his next approach.

"Andrea... are you clothed?" He asked finally, leaning against the wall by the door.

"Um, yes?" She answered, sounding confused. He laughed and opened the door, walking in and shutting it behind himself despite her protests.

"Anyone else feel really awkward right now?" Pat asked as their gaze still lay on the door. Jared and Garrett gave him silent nods, and he turned off the game they were playing quickly. "We should go into the venue now. You coming, Kenny?"

"Nah, I'm gonna make sure John doesn't kill her or anything." He replied, taking a seat at the table and giving them a joking grin. Garrett raised an eyebrow at him, but the other two didn't say anything so Kennedy hoped Garrett would give up anything he was thinking.

"Alright, we'll see you guys inside." The three of them left the bus quickly, soon leaving Kennedy to just his thoughts. The only thing that kept Kennedy's jealousy at bay was Andrea's constant protests and occasional shouting aimed toward John on the other side of the door.

After an exclamation of "No, I will not wear that!" the door flew open and as fast as Kennedy was out of his seat, Andrea was clinging to him, her face pressed to his chest.

"Control him, Kenny!" She cried as Kennedy watched John walk out of the bunk area with a surprised look on his face and a black and white hoodie in his hand. Kennedy threw him a questioning look, which made John throw his hands up in surrender.

"I didn't do anything! I just made a suggestion and she hit me!" John whined, though still looking a bit guilty. Kennedy rolled his eyes and lightly wrapped his arms around her shoulders.

"Do I even want to ask what you suggested?" he teased John, mentally thanking him for whatever he did as he looked down at the girl in his arms. In his arms. That was certainly a lot different than he expected for the first night of tour, even if it was different circumstances. John's jaw dropped and he nearly began pouting.

"Why am I always the one who has to have done something wrong? All I suggested was that she not wear the hoodie for the show!" He yelled, arms flailing as he desperately tried to make his point. Kennedy couldn't contain laughter at John's show, and even Andrea was slightly shaking in laughter.

"Okay, how about we all be nice to each other and meet the guys inside for our warm up?" Kennedy suggested, loosening his hold on Andrea, though he certainly wanted to do the opposite. She stepped out of his grasp and he noticed her cheeks were fairly rosy and she had a shy smile across her face.

"Thanks Kenny. That was probably really immature of us." She said softly, picking up the hoodie from John's hand and putting it on quickly. He chuckled lightly and put his hand on her upper arm, unable to stop himself from touching her once more.

"Hey, don't worry about it. Immature is the definition of The Maine. Come on, let's get inside the venue." The two walked off the bus, despite John's shouting for them to wait up to he could grab his shoes, and quickly made their way into the venue before they were late... again. Even though it probably was none of his business, Kennedy was dying to start conversation with her once more, so he spoke up about the bus incident.

"Is the whole hoodie thing all that happened?" He asked, trying to make it not sound suspicious. Andrea laughed nervously, which in turn made him nervous, but she nodded her head slightly.

"Yeah. He didn't want me to wear anything over my tank top, but I don't think he understands how I am quite yet." She rubbed her shoulder awkwardly and gave me a half smile, and he couldn't help but grin at her modesty and obvious insecurity, because there was absolutely no reason for her to be this way.

"He's only saying that because he's a boy, and you're good looking. You can do what you'd like, but I think you'd look gorgeous in just the tank top." In a sudden inspiration to be the total opposite of the real Kennedy, he gave her a little wink, then walked over to the other guys just as they were getting their instruments ready. He turned back around after a few moments to see John catching up to them, but also to see Andrea very flushed, and eyes wide. She had visibly recovered once they made a circle, but having witnessed her personality this last day, he knew she was still thinking about it.

"Alright Andrea, this is your official initiation into our band for the week. You have to like to party!" Pat cheered as he began clapping. The rest of them joined in, and soon they were jumping as the words "We like to party! echoed through the backstage area.

"Stage time!" Tim shouted as they finished their chant, and the boys and Andrea made their way onto the stage, the crowd cheering insanely and filling Kennedy with adrenaline, just like every other fantastic performance night in his life.

"Hey Houston, how you feeling tonight?!" John shouted to the kids in the crowd, them shouting back enthusiastically. Kennedy stole a glance at Andrea, who was grinning but wearing a slightly perplexed look, and he laughed slightly to himself in remembering that she was used to playing slightly smaller shows than this.

"That's good to hear, because we'd like to introduce to you our newly inducted member, Andrea Larabel from Save My Memories!" The shouts continued as John threw his arm around Andrea's shoulders and smirked slightly. "Now as we're playing tonight, I know it's going to be hard to not undress her with your eyes, but remember, this is strictly business." He winked and pointed at her in a joking manner before making his way back to the center of the stage. "This first one's called Everything I Ask For!"
