Strange and Beautiful

Week 3

Corie had it all planned out. No greater scheme could work as well as hers.

She watched him everyday from her bench in the park. Sometimes he would smile at a passerby and she envisioned that smile for her. He was perfect for her. She was perfect for him. But yet he hadn’t a clue of her existence.

She sat near him today as he got his daily coffee from Jimmy’s Java . He would always lean back from his usual chair to get the paper. That’s when her hand would release the concoction into his coffee of two and a half sugars and one creamer.

He started feeling dizzy. His vision blurred. She smiled and finally made contact. She offered to help. She seemed innocent so he led her to his nearby apartment. Then he slept.

When he awoke, he remembered nothing of their encounter. Instead, he awoke to her beautiful face. Love could blossom freely now for the perfect pair.

Corie chuckled to herself as she shook all ridiculous thoughts aside. She took the last sip of her iced coffee and looked ahead to see the handsome smile fade from sight. Then she gathered her things and threw away the empty container.

“Time for another coffee.”
