Lost In You

I looked at Hayden curiously and studied all the blue and white feathers in his hair. It occurred to me that he must have been the one to prank the assembly, which I was perfectly fine with. It was quite amusing and it wasn't like he truly stepped down from leader. Not officially anyways.

"I was sitting in my little attic which I converted into my room and I heard a noise downstairs. So I looked out the window to see that a car was in the driveway. It occurred to me someone must have already lived there or it was for sale. So I watched out the window and a woman and a boy got out of the car. They entered the house and I watched from the attic door. The woman disappeared into what was the kitchen and the boy came up the stairs and went to another room." he paused for a breath and I just stared at him. "I came out of the attic and peaked into the room. It had a bed with purple sheets and posters but it was also dusty. He noticed me and looked like a deer in the head lights. He didn't scream but we just started talking. He has the most beautiful violet eyes, Frankie."

"So... what's his name?" I asked cautiously. I didn't know how I should feel that Hayden just dropped all hi love for me for some kid he didn't even know. I guess I started to feel bitter and upset.

"Mikey." Hayden said.

"Great, now we have two Mikey's." I said sarcastically.

"Fuck Frank, I thought you would be happy for me." he growled standing up.

"Well how can I be if you loved me first and now I mean nothing to you!" I hissed back. Hayden instantly dropped to his knees in front of me on the walk way as I sat on the front steps. He grabbed my face with his hands and pulled me closer to him.

"How dare you think that." he whispered. "How could you say that when you are the enter of my universe. This boy... he's beautiful, he really is but you are still in my heart. I still love you Frank but we both know I can't have you. Mikey I can have so why can't you just let it go. Am I not allowed to have someone who isn't off limits?" I thought about what he said and sighed.

"Your right, I'm sorry." i mumbled and he let go of me. "Where's he going to school?"

"Oh, he's new here so I guess he's going to your school..." he scratched his head and picked out a feather.

"You were the one in the rafters, weren't you?" I asked changing the subject. Hayden just smiled and looked away.

"Mikey and myself actually." blush crept into his cheeks and it made me pissed, he never blushed for me!

"Oh..." I glowered. He didn't seem to notice my mood change.

"I think you guys are going to love him, he's really nice and really cute and just.... he works at the book store on the corner beside the flower shop and Starbucks" he rambled.

"Umm I have a lot of homework to do so I gotta go." I stood up and scurried into my house locking the door behind me. Hayden was probably still sitting there processing what just happened. I slid down the wall and sat on the floor, then the tears came.
