Beyond The Barbed Wire

Emily is an 11 year old girl living in the countryside of Devon, during the second World War. With her father being a Commanding Officer in the 2nd Battalion, he has agreed to let injured soldiers in their home while they recover. From having to move to the basement from her room, to the rude stares and comments from the soldiers, Emily takes off in search of freedom, privacy and independance. As she stops at a fence of barbed wire with a hole in, she decides to crawl through in search of a new adventure.
