Burning It Down, All the Way to Bat Country

Matt’s POV
It was Friday and I was at Wal-Mart with the list Trini had given me before she left for school. I quickly read it over, wincing when I saw the amount of caffeine that was going to be pumping through the kids. What the hell had I gotten myself into? I sighed and began my foray into the store for Trinity’s junk food.

An hour and a half later and I was finally done. My phone rang as I was getting into the car, I pulled it out of my pocket and frowned when I saw Trinity’s name flashing across the screen.
“What’s up Trin, aren’t you in school?”
“Yeah Dad, I’m in school but I’m in a bit of trouble.”
“What? Why? What happened?”

“DAD! Calm down, I didn’t do anything, but these stupid fuckers apparently remember you and your….personality from school. Some jocks came up and hit on Mistey, but she told them to fuck off and one of them tried to hit her, so Blaze and Evan jumped up and started wailing on them, then Tanya and a few of her stupid cheerleader friends went after Blaike for some reason, so Me, Mistey, and Sarah went after them. The principal got involved, and now me and my friends are sitting in the office, while the jocks and the cheerleaders get to go on their merry little way. None of the group can get a hold of their parents, so we need you to come down and get us, we all got suspended for fighting.” I growled after her little speech.
“Ok, I’m on my way, be there in ten.”

Trinity’s POV
I hung up my phone and turned towards the group.
“My dad is on his way here, he’ll be here in like ten minutes.” Everyone nodded. My dad was gonna flip when he got here, Blaze had a black eye, split lip, and he was holding his side, so I’m guessing he got a kidney kick or a fractured rib. Evan wasn’t much better, but his nose was broken as well. Mistey and Sarah had a black eye and split lip each, and Blaike had a nasty bruise spreading on her cheekbone. I had a gotten kicked in the ribs, and a few of them were bruised, a black eye, and a huge bruise on my leg where I had rammed it into a table during the fight. As I was taking stock of the injuries, I heard the door open and close, and looked up to see my dad. He was just looking at all of us, then he spoke.

“They dragged you all in here looking like this and none of the other kids got a punishment?” I nodded, and he clenched his fists, his face turning bright red before he stormed into the principle’s personal office, slamming the door behind him. I thought he was going to start screaming at Mr. Peters, but we couldn’t hear anything. 20 minutes later and he came out.

“Ok guys, the suspension hasn’t been lifted, but it has been reduced, you’re back in school on Wednesday, and the kids who started all this shit are out for three weeks. Let’s get outta here.” With that, he turned on his heel and marched out the door. We all grabbed our backpacks and rushed out after him, with his long stride he was already halfway to the car. Once we caught up to the tall monster, we all threw our shit in the back and climbed in. The group had already packed their shit and brought it to school with them, so we headed back to my house to start the fun. Ten minutes later and we were piling out of my dad’s giant Escalade, grabbing our shit and running into the house. I was running past the kitchen with Mistey when I heard my name being called.

“Trinity!!!!!” Steph called again, I deduced it was coming from somewhere upstairs so I ran up and knocked on her door. She answered it with a frazzled expression, and with…no clothes on?
“Ahhhh, my eyes!!!” I screamed, and she just laughed and pulled me inside.
“I have a date tonight, and none of the other girls can figure out what I should wear, so I need you to get your girls and HELP ME!” She said in one breath. I laughed and nodded, running back downstairs to the basement where I knew everyone would be congregated.

“Ok ladies, my dear Steph apparently has a date tonight and surprisingly, none of the aunts can figure out an outfit for her. So, in a moment of desperation, she has asked us for help. You know what that means? UNLIMITED ACCSES TO HER CLOSET!!” I screamed the last part, and Mistey, Blaike, and Sarah squealed, hopping up and running upstairs and to Steph’s room with me. We barged in and got straight to work, digging through her closet for the perfect outfit.

“WAIT! What are you guys gonna be doing?” Mistey asked. Steph laughed and shook her head.
“I honestly don’t know, but he said it was gonna be pretty casual.” She explained. We nodded and I picked out a pair a dark distressed jeans, Blaike pulled out a purple tank and a black t shirt, and Mistey grabbed a pair of black and purple Van’s. Steph clapped and grabbed the clothes, running into her bathroom to change.
“Thanks ladies, I’ve got it from here!” she called. We laughed and left the room, tromping back down to the basement, jumping on the guys, getting loud protests as we had interrupted some epic battle of Halo 3 or something. I thought it was stupid, but that was probably because I couldn’t play Halo to save my life. I had an evil idea and decided to act on it.

*poke* “Hey Evan.”
“What?”
“What’s your favorite color?”
“Silver.” By this time the girls had figured out my evil plan and had decided to join in.
*poke* “Hey Blaze?”
“What Mistey?”
“Can I tell the girls what happened with that one thing with you and Evan in the third grade?” she had barely finished the question before Evan and Blaze threw down their controllers and tackled her.

“DON’T YOU DARE!” Evan and Blaze yelled, putting their hands over her mouth. Sarah, Blaike, and I blinked, looked at each other, and busted out laughing. We were laughing so hard that we fell off the couch and ended up landing on the guys and Mistey.
“OW!” Mistey yelled, and I guess it was so loud that my dad and uncles heard it, and they came barreling down the stairs.
“What happened?’
“Who died?”
“Is everything ok?”
“Is anything broken?”
“Why is everyone on the floor?”
We blinked at the guys, looked at each other, and started laughing again. Five minutes later and we had finally calmed down. The band had gone back upstairs when we started laughing, so we all just piled back onto the couch and watched Evan and Blaze try to kill people on Halo.

“Guys I’m gonna go upstairs and grab the food. Anyone want pizza?”
“YES!” everyone yelled.
“Ok, who wants what?” ten minutes later and I had the list of pizza topping and walked upstairs to find my dad. I found him sitting in the living room watching TV.
“Hey daddy, I need the car keys, and can you order a couple pizzas for us?”
“Sure baby girl, and the keys are on the kitchen counter. What do you guys want on the pizza?” I gave him the list and walked into the kitchen, grabbing Uncle Brian’s hand on the way out and dragged him to the car with me.

“Woah, where are we going Trini?”
“I need you to help me get all the food from the truck.” I stated and he just nodded before opening the back and grabbing all the bags. Luckily we had taken the ice cream inside earlier so it wouldn’t melt. I grabbed it out of the freezer and brought it downstairs, where I was attacked by the girls, each of them grabbing a carton and sitting back down. We were halfway through Saw 3 when my dad called me back upstairs. I found him standing in the kitchen, five pizzas on the counter next to him.
“Ok little one, the top three are yours. Do you know where Steph is?”
“Thanks daddy, yeah she said she had a date tonight.” Just as I finished the front door crashed open and slammed shut. Me and daddy looked at each other before running into the hall, where Steph was standing with tears running down her face and a bruise forming on her cheek. Seeing my dad, she sobbed and ran into him, wrapping her arms around his waist. He hugged her close before looking at me and speaking.

“Go get the girls and the guys Trini, we need to figure out what happened.” I nodded and ran downstairs, where my friends and aunts and uncles were watching the movie together.
“PEOPLE! Something happened to Steph on her date, so all adults are called to the family room for an Avenged Family meeting.” I said and stepped aside as Lynnie, Corra, Jaz, and Jasey ran up the stairs with my uncles following. I heard Aja start to cry and saw Jasey turn to go get her from her room, but I stopped her.
“It’s ok Jasey, I’ll grab her, she watch a movie with us.” She nodded gratefully and ran to the family room. I walked to Aja’s room and saw her sitting on her bed with tears running down her face. She reached towards me when she saw me walk in, and I picked her up and cooed softly to her.

“What happened sweetheart?”
“The bear was chasing after me, and Bella couldn’t stop it, and Pinkly and Ichy were asleep and it was scary!” She cried and buried her face in shoulder.
“Shh, it’s sweetie, wanna go watch a movie with me and my friends?” She sniffled and nodded, so I walked downstairs and handed her off to Evan, she had taken a shine to him at the barbeque, and took out Saw so I could pop in her Cinderella movie.
“Oh my god I love this movie!” Blaike yelled, and we all looked at her funny till Aja clapped and giggled.
“Me too!” she squealed and got off of Evan to go plop on Blaike’s lap. We all laughed and grabbed pizza and sat back to watch the movie. Halfway through Aja fell asleep again, so Evan picked her up and took her back to her room. When he came back Mistey turned the TV off and clapped.

“Ok everyone, Truth or Dare time, get in a circle.” We groaned but followed her orders. We decided that once the person completed their truth or dare, they would go next.
“Ok I’ll go first. Trini, truth or dare?”
“Um, Truth.”
“Awww man, that’s boring. Ok, have you ever had a boyfriend?”
“No haha. Ok, Evan, truth or dare?”
“Truth.”
“Dammit! Ok, What was that thing that happened with you and Blaze in third grade?” Blaze and Evan turned bright red.
“Do I really have to answer that?” We all nodded.
“Ok fine, we got caught kissing and touching each other. When my mom found out she told me that I had to wait till I was older to that kind of stuff and then gave me a lollipop and walked away haha. Mistey, truth or dare?”
“Dare bitch!”
“Ok, I dare you to go upstairs and profess your undying love for Matt.” We all laughed and followed as she marched upstairs looking for my dad. Once she found him, she stood infront of him with her hands on her hips, one hip cocked. He just looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
“This is dare, just so know.” She said before launching into her speech. At the end we were all on the floor laughing. She turned on her heel and walked back downstairs, we followed once we had calmed down.
“Well that was fun, Blaike truth or dare.”
“Dare.”
“I dare you to make out with Blaze for two minutes.” She sighed and nodded, walking over to Blaze and sitting in his lap, fusing her lips with his. He tangled his fingers in her hair, bringing her closer. The two minute mark passed and they hadn’t stopped, so Sarah threw a pillow at them. They turned red as they pulled away and we laughed at the them before Blaike chose Sarah. She ended up having to drink a Monster in 30 seconds, then Sarah chose Blaze, who confessed to liking Blaike since seventh grade. After our rather revealing game of Truth or Dare, we somehow got into a food fight and had to spend an hour cleaning up and taking showers. Four movies and all the food my dad had bought earlier, and we finally fell asleep.

Time Elapse: next day, 12 pm.
We woke up to the smell of food, and walked upstairs to the kitchen, finding Steph at the stove making grilled cheese.
“Ahh, the children are awake. What time did you guys finally crash?” We groaned and layed our heads on the island.
“Around 4 I think?” Mistey answered, looking at me in question and I nodded. Steph laughed and placed food in front of us, we thanked her and started eating.
“So what happened last night Skittles?” I asked and she tensed.
“The douche tried to get in my pants and I said no, so he hit me and I left. Not that big of a deal honestly.” We all nodded, knowing something else happened, but it wasn’t out business so we stayed silent and ate. Now the question was, what to do today?
