‹ Prequel: One of the Boys...Right?
Status: In progress! That's right! I'm back!
That Last Little Spark
Bam and Jess lasted the entire summer and into senior year. Nobody objected to them dating, and some even breathed a sigh of relief that they had finally gotten together. Like Kelsey.
And then things began to go to hell, like good things always do.
Raab got expelled.
The guys, seeing as how Raab wasn't coming back, soon dropped out. Including Bam.
And then came the real heartbreaker: people began to move away.
First it was Dunn. He moved down to Atlanta to live with his uncle.
Shortly after, Raab moved to New Jersey with his family.
Then it was Novak, who moved to California with his family.
Dico moved next, to Ohio, but after that, he moved so much that people lost track.
And finally...it was Bam. On one October day, Kelsey, Jess, and Bam said a final goodbye to each other. Bam promised he would try and talk to Jess, but he never contacted her after he left.
Kelsey and Jess clung to each other for the remainder of senior year. Every day they tried to find out where their friends were, but it was as though they had vanished, like the birds that had flown south for the winter.
Graduation came and went. Kelsey ended up being valedictorian, giving a speech about how people could influence the lives of others even after they are never seen from again, and how that impacts the future of one's life. It didn't take a rocket scientist to know that she was talking about the guys.
Jess, with her talent for music, had been accepted into the Art Institute of New York City, and Kelsey was accepted into a school in Boston on full scholarship. Kelsey and Jess, in their new cars which they had saved and gotten jobs for, followed each other out of Pennsylvania one balmy July morning. Kelsey stopped in New York long enough to help Jess get settled in her dorm room, and after promising 1,000 times to keep in touch, she left.
Bam moved on to become a skateboarder/film star, as did the guys. They all found each other again, through acting jobs and random videos of them getting hurt. This wound up to be made into a show called Jackass, and eventually Bam got his own show: Viva La Bam. It was like the guys had never been apart.
But had they really forgotten the two girls who seemed to have vanished? Jess' aunt and Kelly's parents had long since moved from the area, so even if the guys did remember Jess and Kelly, it would be a shot in the dark just to find them.
Fate has a funny way of dealing with things, though
