Sequel: She Almost Left Me

The One That Got Away

Eleven Band

Today is a winding road that's taking me to places that I didn't want to go
Whoa (whoa, whoa, whoa)
Today in the blink of an eye I'm holding on to something and I do not know why
I tried

I tried to read between the lines
I tried to look in your eyes
I want a simple explanation
For what I'm feeling inside
I gotta find a way out
Maybe there's a way out

Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
And bring on the thunder

Today is a winding road
Tell me where to start and tell me something I don't know
Whoa (whoa, whoa, whoa)
Today I'm on my own
I can't move a muscle and I can't pick up the phone
I don't know (I don't know, I don't know, I don't know)

And now I'm itching for the tall grass
And longing for the breeze
I need to step outside
Just to see if I can breathe
I gotta find a way out
Maybe there's a way out

Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain

Yeah I'm walking on a tightrope
I'm wrapped up in vines
I think we'll make it out
But you just gotta give me time
Strike me down with lightning
Let me feel you in my veins
I wanna let you know how much I feel your pain

Today is a winding road that's taking me to places that I didn't want to go
Whoa

Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
And bring on the thunder, and I said
Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
Oh baby bring on the pain
And listen to the thunder.

Lauren was now eleven, listening to heavier music with Davinia, dressing in less clothes and in darker colours. Frankie was flabbergast; he'd never imagined his sister would end up like this. He'd pictured her sweet and innocent for all her life. She had posters of the guys in rock bands plastered all around her room, stressing Frankie out no end.

So it was no surprise that he kicked up a fuss when Danny said he'd joined a band and was recording an album.

"What about your future? What if this doesn't work out? Have you got a back-up?"

"Frankie, listen. I'm not stupid, I won't throw my life away for something that may not happen," Danny replied.

At this moment, the two eleven year olds ran downstairs, on hearing Danny's voice below them. Lauren had known about his audition and then gaining a friend at that audition, and even about the auditions for other band members. She had been sworn to secrecy but had told Davinia anyway.

"How'd it go!?" Lauren asked excitedly.

Danny paused for a while, a smile growing on his face. "I'm in a band!"

Lauren and Davinia squealed and jumped on Danny, so proud of them, more proud of him than they ever had been. Frankie just sighed and walked off. He had lost his sister to his best friend, and he had lost his best friend to the world.

He wasn't going to stick around and watch his friend turn famous.

Not very long, and not very happy towards the end.
Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
I'm here for another hour and a half.
You might get another chapter each for both operational stories.
Maybe.
