Sequel: She Almost Left Me

The One That Got Away

In Love and Death?

It was three a.m when you woke me up
And we jumped in the car
And drove as far as we could go
Just to get away
We talked about our lives
Until the sun came up
And now I'm thinking about
How I wish I could go back
Just for one more day
One more day with you

Everytime I see your face
Everytime you look my way
It's like it all falls into place
Everything feels right
Ever since you walked away
You left my life in disarray
All I want is one more day
It's all I need: one more day with you

When the car broke down
We just kept walkin' along
Til we hit this town
There was nothing there at all
But that was all okay
We spent all our money on stupid things
But if I looked back now
I'd probably give it all away
Just for one more day
One more day with you

Everytime I see your face
Everytime you look my way
It's like it all falls into place
Everything feels right
But ever since you walked away
You left my life in disarray
All I want is one more day
It's all I need: one more day with you

Now I'm sittin' here, like we used to do
I think about my life and how now there's nothing I won't do
Just for one more day
One more day with you

Everytime I see your face
Everytime you look my way
It's like it all falls into place
Everything feels right (Everything feels right)
Everytime I hear your name
Everytime I feel the same
It's like it all falls into place
Everything feels right

You walked away
Just one more day
It's all I need, just one more day with you

Danny had invited her out to dinner. It was the least he could do to cheer her up; not like he was going to tell her how he felt. That would only ruin what they already had. So he decided to keep it a secret - for now.

She sat with her head down, the thick, deep red sweater and the black jeans obviously worn to keep herself covered up, out of self-shame. And Danny felt guilty. It was probably good for her to finally get out of bed, but why did he have to bring her all the way out here when she felt so pathetic? It wasn't fair.

"Hey, I can take you home if you like," Danny smiled weakly at her, his hand brushing hers in an attempt to comfort her.

"It's okay," she said quietly, speaking for the first time in days. "I'm hungry anyway."

Danny nodded and handed her the menu. She just stared at it for a while, until she pointed to what she wanted and excused herself to go to the toilet. His heart sank: she'd already been twice in the last half hour and it wasn't to use the toilet.

Every time she came back, her face was paler and her eyes were more bloodshot. Her face was weather-beaten where tears had fallen down endlessly for the last two weeks. And she wouldn't talk to anyone. Not even Davinia. No one, except Frankie. Danny was in desperate need to know what she was telling him, but he respected her and her relationship with her brother far too much to ask.

She came back, shaking.

"I'm still bleeding," she whispered, showing him her hand, and collapsing on the floor.

I know, I know, I'm not being very nice to her.
But it'll get better, I promise!
Enjoy, I know it's been a while!
Will be writing soon as possible, though.
Love you all x
