Under Jersey Skies

I woke to the familiar warmth of Gerard’s body close to mine. Like last time, he’d held onto me all night. I sighed, that was twice now. Twice I had betrayed Frank, and slept with Gerard. My sigh disrupted Gerard from his sleep, as he stirred and slowly woke.

“Hey.” He smiled.
“Hey.” I sighed, frowning.
“What’s wrong?”
“I feel guilty, like I’m using you.”

Gerard rolled over on top of me, and kissed me with forceful passion. For a few moments I was lost in the blackness behind my eyelids, feeling nothing but the passion that flowed through me as we kissed. Then he pulled away, leaving me gasping for air.

“I love you.” He breathed, brushing a stray strand of hair out of my face.

I wasn’t expecting that, but it made sense. The way he kissed me, the way he made love to me, it all made sense now, Gerard had been in love with me all along. My heart sped up, and I suddenly realized; I loved him too…
