You Look Pretty Low

Grounded?

[Peyton]

I was woken up by a loud shriek.

Perfect.

Slowly opening my eyes, I realised I’d fallen asleep on top of Alex, Rian and Kara on the floor of the living room. Casey and her friends were over by the sound system, all laying on top of one another, as well as her brothers and his friends, and Jack, Katelynn, Trinity and Zack were all in a ball at the bottom of the stairs. People had started stirring at the sound of the shriek, and I rose to my feet to see Sue and Donald with dropped jaws.

Hah.

“Have a nice time at your friends’ house?” I asked innocently

“Peyton, Trinity, please get all your friends out of the house. We’ll talk to you in a minute,” Donald said through gritted teeth

I saluted, making the awake people laugh. Sue and Donald stormed up the stairs, little shrieks sounding every now and again. I helped Alex, Rian and Kara to their feet, Rian just shaking his head.

“Oh, come on, you really expected them to be okay with us throwing a party?” I snorted

“I just wish you would’ve told me,” Rian sighed

“Yeaah, well, we didn’t. HEY EVERYONE! YOU HEARD THE OLD BAT! OUT!!” I yelled

It took a good half an hour to vacate everyone from the house. So now it was only me and Trinity left, and we were sitting with smirks on our faces in the kitchen in front of the Bensons.

“What you two did was irresponsible,” Sue frowned

“Who said we were responsible in the first place?” I asked innocently

“You disrespected us, after we left you in trust of our house,” Donald continued

“Why would you trust us?” Trinity smirked

“You are old enough to know what’s right or wrong!” Sue exasperated

“You told us to have fun, so we did,” I shrugged

“You let strangers in…who knows what could’ve happened!” Donald snapped

“Keep your wig on old man, we hate you…get over it,” Trinity snorted

“We’re sorry to do this to you girls, but you leave us no other choice. You’re grounded,” Sue said gravely

Oh no she didn’t.

“What the fuckk are you on?! You can’t ground us!!” Trinity exploded

“We can and we are. For two weeks,” Donald said firmly

“You better watch your backs. No-one grounds the Hayes sisters and gets away with it,” I sneered

Trinity and I spat at their feet, before linking hands and walking up the stairs to our room. I seriously could not believe what just happened. Grounded?! How the fuckk is that fair?!

Trinity kicked off her heels, I did the same, and we jumped on our beds in unison. Luckily, no-one had been in here.

“I can’t believe them! They’re out of their fuckking minds!” Trinity groaned

“Complete headcases,” I muttered

The two of us sat in silence for a good hour. Until I realised what tomorrow was. Oh shit. Oh no oh shit oh no.

“Trin…I can’t believe it. Tomorrow is mine and Alex’s 3 months! He had a fancy dinner planned and everything! Now it’s all ruined!” I whined

“What?” my sister asked, confused

“Because of this stupid grounding, I can’t spend my anniversary with Alex. This is the worst day ever!” I said sadly

I flopped my head down on my pillow, tears stinging my eyes. The Big Man Upstairs must really be laughing at me now. Freaking karma biting me in the ass. Gah!

Trinity sat in silence for a couple of minutes just watching me. I didn’t bother asking her why, she probably had her reasons.

“I’m just going to find my phone, okay?” Trinity sighed

Sighed? Eh. I just nodded, curling into a ball. This sucks ass.

[Trinity]

I can’t believe I’m doing this. I really can’t. Peyton owes me big time. With a deep breath and balled fists, I walked into the kitchen where Sue and Donald were making lunch. I cleared my throat, waiting till they turned round to speak.

“I’m the one to blame for this party. Peyton was out with her boyfriend, and I planned this while she was gone. Most the people were here by the time she got back, and she just went along with it to keep me happy. So, just unground her and give the full sentence to me,” I said, all in one breath

Sue and Donald looked stunned. I mean, so was I, to be honest. Who wouldn’t be? I just sacrificed my freedom to keep my sister happy. Eh, that’s what sisters do I guess. I looked away as the Bensons mouthed things to each other, looking back when Sue cleared her throat.

“Well, Trinity, seeing as you’ve been so honest about not wanting your sister in trouble for something she didn’t do, we’ll just keep you on the two weeks grounding. Tell Peyton she’s free to go out. Thank you for confessing,” Donald said with a smile

“Whatever,” I muttered

What? I can only be so nice for so long. Peyton’s taken up two weeks’ worth now. I ran upstairs, and bounded into our room.

“Did you find you pho…why do you look so miserable? Did the Bensons take your phone away on top of all this bullshit?” Peyton asked, concerned

“No. I took the blame for the party. You’re not grounded any more,” I said softly, sitting down on my bed

“WHAT?!? Why the hell did you do that? I’m going to tell them the truth, right now,” Peyton shouted, leaping to her feet

I beat her to the door, blocking it with my body.

“Just accept it, okay? I know how much this anniversary meant to you, so don’t get yourself grounded again. Go out and enjoy it,” I pleaded

Tears sprung to Peyton’s eyes again, and she threw her arms round my neck, as well as wrapping her legs round my waist, hugging the life out of me.

“Pey…can’t…breathe!” I choked

She let me go. Fuckking psycho.

“I’m sorry, I just can’t believe you did this for me! You’re the best sister ever!” Peyton squealed, clapping her hands together

“I’m you’re only sister, fuckking idiot. Now be useful and go out to buy me cigarettes. I can’t last two weeks not going out without a huge supply,” I laughed, pushing her away from me so I could walk back to my bed

“I love you, Trin,” Peyton said randomly

I stared at her. We rarely said stuff like that to each other. Like, ever. But I could see she actually meant it.

“Love you too, Pey. Now, piss off,” I smirked

Peyton saluted and skipped out the room, running down the stairs. I smiled before frowning and flopping back on my pillow. The next two weeks were going to be hell.

The next day came quickly, and soon I was watching Peyton get ready for her fancy anniversary dinner with Alex. They were going to a new restaurant in town, and he was coming to pick her up in 10 minutes. Peyton was stressing like crazy, adjusting the hems of her cute white strap dress every few seconds, her fingers playing with her red bag strap too.

“Would you just fuckking relax? You’re already dating him…what’s the big deal?” I grumbled, rubbing my eyes

What? I’m grouchy and tired…not a good combo.

“It’s a big deal because it’s an important thing for us. I like him and I want to look good for him,” Peyton shot back, looking in the mirror again

“Since when does Peyton Hayes dress up for a guy?” I snorted

“Since Alex came into my life. He really means a lot to me, Trin, more than any guy ever has,” Peyton said softly

“Eurgh, don’t go soft on me. Just go out, have sex in his car and come back with a smug smirk,” I groaned, waving my hands dismissively

“I’ll keep that in mind,” Peyton laughed, “what are you going to do all evening?”

“I don’t know actually. Watch a movie…read a book…masturbate…” I trailed off, smiling innocently

“Only you would be so blunt,” Peyton giggled, “normal people don’t tend to speak about their own pleasure time,”

“We’re not most people, clearly proved by only you not grimacing or squealing. Now go, I can hear his car,” I laughed

Peyton’s smile turned to a frown, making me roll my eyes.

“What?” I sighed

“Are you going to be alright by yourself?” Peyton asked softly

“Of course, now get the fuckk out of our room!” I exasperated

Peyton laughed and flipped me off before walking out the room. Ah, peace…finally.

[3 hours later]

I am officially bored out of my fuckking mind. I’ve watched a film. I’ve started reading a book. I’ve…no, I didn’t masturbate, get your mind out the gutter. I’m just fuckking bored.

Yawn.

I reached for my cigarettes and walked over to the window, opening it as I lit up. I smoked slowly, wanting to savour the fresh air. It was getting dark out now, but not dark enough for me not to see a familiar car pulling up outside Rian’s.

Great.

Now Zack’s next door and I can’t see him. For a fuckk, obviously. Not for anything sappy.

But when he got out and crept quietly over to the grass below me, I frowned. What the hell is he doing?!

“Trinity? Can you hear me?” he stage-whispered

You know, the really loud whispering.

“Yeaah…what do you want?” I asked, stifling a yawn

“Is that the way to treat the boyfriend who’s rescuing you from grounding?” Zack smirked

“You’re what?” I gasped

“I didn’t want my girl to spend the night alone. Get your ass down here,” Zack smiled

I grinned back. I can honestly say I was not expecting this.

“Give me 5 minutes,” I whispered

Zack nodded and stepped backwards to lean against the tree outside our window. I walked out my room, feigning a pained face as I walked down the stairs. Sue and Donald were watching television. Perfect.

“Hey, um, I’m going to bed early. I’ve got a bit of a migraine, and I just want to get some rest,” I said quietly, contorting my face in fake-pain

“Oh dear, Trin. Would you like me to bring you up some aspirin in a bit?” Sue smiled

“No!” I said quickly

Both Sue and Donald sent me strange looks.

“I mean…no, I just want to get some sleep. You don’t have to check on me. I’m just gonna crash straight away,” I said smoothly

Oh yeaah, good comeback.

“Okay. Well, we hope you feel better in the morning,” Donald smiled

“Yuh huh,” I nodded

I couldn’t sprint up the stairs fast enough. I pulled some black converse on, my denim shorts and plain green tank top being in an alright state to go out in. I grabbed my cigarettes, lighter, phone and a black cardigan, before climbing out the window.

“A little more to the right and you’ll reach the tree,” Zack whispered

I nodded, and did so. Soon enough I was down on the ground. Zack smiled and pressed his lips onto mine. To repay him for rescuing me, I clutched at his body tightly, moving my lips in a fast motion. Zack groaned slightly, backing me firmly into the tree. I had to break away when he ground his hips onto mine.

“Let’s get away from here, yeaah?” I whispered, slightly out of breath

Zack blushed but nodded, and grabbed my hand. The two of us ran quickly to Zack’s car, and he quickly started the engine. Luckily, he has a quiet engine, not one of those stupidly revving ones. He sped down the road, resting his arm round the back of my seat.

“So where to m’lady?” Zack grinned, flashing hisamazing smile at me

“Anywhere we can be alone,” I smirked

“I think I know just the place,” Zack grinned
