Run

Preface

Jeanne’s sprint broke into a fast pace run, as she crashed through the forest’s underbrush. Why was this girl running? Two words, runaway snatchers, the people who come after children that find themselves outside of there home for long amounts of time. The lights of the snatcher’s flashlights came closers and their yells louder, but Jeanne was tiring not to think about them to much. A boy next to her shouted instructions and directions to her as they made it through the cold night’s air.

As they ran, the girl constantly flipped her, brown locks out of her face along with twigs. How did the two get here? Why were they being chased? How they got here, no one really knows, but they were being chased because they committed a crime. The crime of freedom, they were free now, and no one in this time likes that.

The two came to a wide river, which rushed like a fast pace train, with the snatchers close behind. Beginning to cry, at the fear of that this might just be it, Jeanne looked at the boy, that she come to trust. Said boy quickly grabbed her hand a lead her down the river, where there was more underbrush for them to hide in for now. However, before they could get close to the end of the river a noise was heard.

Bang! A singled gunshot was the sound followed by a thud of a body hitting the ground. All was silent as they tried to figure out who was dead, and who was the shooter.
