A Price For My Soul

“Aww. Don’t worry about it,” Gemini laughed. “My sister needs a new ‘main guy.’”

I looked down; I could feel the blood rushing to my face.

“Well I can only hope she picks me,” Alex replied before squeezing my hand in his.
I looked up at him, his eyes were lit up and shimmering. I smiled and leaned in for another kiss when someone shouted.

“IT’S TIME TO PARTY!”

We all looked behind us, where four or five people were trudging up to us, two of which were already wasted beyond what you would ever find me.

As weird as it was, I recognized each person. And even stranger, only one of them was from the same band. Hayley Williams was chatting away on her blackberry glaring at Gabe Saporta, who had his arms outstretched and was the one who had yelled at us. Behind him was a very intoxicated Nick Santino and Vicky-T, who were linking arms and singing ‘Move, Shake and Drop’ by DJ Laz and Flo Rida. They were stumbling into thee Juliet Simms. She was shoving Nick off her and rolling her eyes at Gabe.

Alex smiled and stopped. Gemini’s jaw was nearly on the grass. I cleared my throat, looking at her with stern eyes. She snapped back and mouthed thank you to me. I nodded and turned my attention to Alex, who was now talking to Gabe.

“Yeah, Jack just called. I heard the party was on your bus tonight, so I grabbed Hayley who was talking to Juliet. Vic and Nick were already getting smashed on our bus.’ Gabe explained, looking at Vicky-T and Nick, who were still singing and now dancing, since they had stopped walking.

“Some days I'm a super bitch, up to my old tricks. But it won't last forever. Next day I'm your super girl, out to save the world and it keeps gettin' better!” started blasting from my phone. I pulled it out of my pocket, receiving some looks from the crowd in front of us. Nick and Vicky stopped singing as I handed the phone to Gemini. She glared at me and flipped the phone open.

“Sam, why do you have- Hey Mom, how are you?”

Vicky busted out laughing, whispering loudly to Nick. “Get it? Super bitch is her mom.”

Gabe rolled his eyes and gave her s stern look.

“Yes mother, we will be fine. You know we are staying at Kelsey’s tonight. Yes she’s with us.”

I pulled out at little taped recorder and pressed play. A sweet and high pitched voice rang out clearly.

“Hey Mrs. Hatton, the girls will be fine with me. Yes. I can’t wait to see you either.” I pressed stop and Gemini put the phone back to her ear, saying goodnight to our mother and promising to call her tomorrow. She hung up and slipped the phone back in her bag.

“Wow,” Juliet laughed. We looked over to the group and noticed everyone had an awestruck look on their face. Even the very wasted Vicky and Nick.

“How did you come up with that?” Alex asked. I shrugged in sync with Gemini. “Right, well guys, this is Sammy and Gemini.”

Everyone introduced themselves and shook our hands. When Juliet said her name I started signing.

“My sister wants you to know she knows who you are and she thinks you are amazing. Not that the rest of you are not amazing too but she is in love with your music Juliet. This one time-” I cut Gemini off with a slap to her shoulder. She looked at me and asked what was wrong. I gave her a look and felt my face catch flame of embarrassment. I smiled and looked down. Alex squeezed my hand and pulled me to the bus doors.

‘Right Round’ started playing when we got onto the party bus. Alex explained they rented the bus and each night, a band paid for that night. But everyone used the bus anyways.

The seats were all gray but the neon lights made it hard to tell. The music was blasting and there were drinks everywhere. Zack and Rian were sitting near the back and Jack was waiting for us.

“Sam, Gemini, Alex! And everyone else?” His expression changed from excited to shock.

Vicky and Nick started grinding and made their way over to Zack and Rian, pulling on Zack’s hand trying to get him to stand.

Alex laughed and pulled me to the middle of the bus, where we started dancing.
