___________ _____________Exposing his gifted quite empty hands
_____________________________Like a conjurer about to begin,
_______________________A righteous man begging of righteous men.

___________________________In the sun lily-and-gold-coloured
________________________Filtering the cruder light, he has endured
_________________________A feature for our regard; and will keep;
_________________________Of worldly purity the stained archetype.

____________________The scummed pond twitches. The great holly-tree,
_ ___________________Emptied and shut, blows clear of wasting snow,
______________________The common, puddled substance: beneath,
________________________Like a revealed mineral, a new earth.
