You're much too nice to turn him down, so you agree. Dinner and a movie. Soon enough, too soon, it's been months. He tells you he loves you with all his heart, and all you can do is nod. You don’t feel the same way, you never have, but what can you say? What can you do? "Love you," is all you can muster, and you walk away from him. Never listening to his phone calls, texts, love letters or your mother saying he's a good guy.
You can't tell him the truth, but at least it's better than pretending. Right?
