Chapter 40

I pull my jeep in the drive and sigh. Kimi's in school and I am at my house packing. Kimi was in a bad mood this morning when she left because she wanted to stay with me. I slept for a couple more hours before I got up at Kimi's house.

Jennifer was at work as well so I had the house to myself. I got dressed in some clothes after a shower and headed on over here.

Today is the November 19, 2009 and Kimi is about to drive me insane about tomorrow. She needs to skip school to attend the movie. Jennifer wasn't so keen on the idea but Kimi was persistent.

I grab my overnight bag and hop out of the jeep. I had gotten my jeep on the seventeenth since I was over here every day packing. Most people would have only taken a few hours to pack but I also have to make sure the alarm works and the house is set.

Mom also calls for last minute things she needs from the house, which is annoying. I sigh as I stick in the key unlocking the door. As usual the house is deadly quiet and I slam the door shut. I flip on the light switch and run up to my room. My bedroom door is wide open since Kimi and I were here yesterday, she showed up after school.

She will no doubt show up again today. I toss my overnight bag toward my bed and find my suitcases still in the floor. I don't use many suitcases considering to don't carry all of my clothes unlike Kimi who packs every bit of clothes she has.

I lean down and look through the bags checking to see what’s in the bag. I huff and then stand to my feet, time to get started packing.

Ring!
Ring!

“Hello?” I answered my cell phone.

“Laura? It's mom.”

I rolled my eyes, like I didn't read the caller ID.

“Yeah I know mom. What do you need?”

“Well I need you to check my closet because I apparently didn't get the dress I wanted for Thanksgiving to wear. You should know which one that is. There is some jewelry that's in my box you need to get as well.”

I heard the front door open and slam shut. I couldn't help but chuckle, Kimi was here. She sent me a message after her last period class.

“What are you laughing at?”

“Kimi's here mom. I have to go alright?”

“Alright honey just be sure to get the last minute things and I will call you tomorrow. Bye, I love you.”

“You too mom.”

I snap the phone shut. Kimi ran into the room rubbing her hands together.

“Laura did you know it's supposed to rain tomorrow?”

I laughed and grinned.

Kimi and Annie refused to buy New Moon umbrellas when we went to the mall. They complained about not ever using them but I bought one and I guess I will be using mine tomorrow.

“It's not funny. I was checking the weather forecast at the coffee shop from the school and it said a sixty percent chance of rain tomorrow.”

I smiled tomorrow sounded like a perfect rainy day.

November 20, 2009

Kimi and I woke early because we were way too excited. Annie wasn't answering her phone which was understandable since it was seven thirty when we woke. Jennifer wanted to kill both of us since she was already up when we woke.

We weren't allowed to attend the midnight showing last night because of Ben still on the loose. Not to mention the fact that Annie couldn't be out that late on a school night. Annie's mother had no idea that Annie wasn't attending school today. Her mom left before Annie got up for school to go to work in a few towns over so she would have no idea until she came home.

It was now about nine thirty and Kimi and I were in her room. She was taking a shower first but was being extra slow about it.

“Kimi just hurry up and get in the damn shower. You can get dressed while I am in the shower.”

She just stomped her feet and grabbed her robe.

“Fine.”

She walked in the bathroom slamming the door for extra effect. I just chuckled at her. Jennifer was gone to work, she hadn't wanted to at first but when we explained to her that we were leaving early she caved.

I stood from the bed stretching my arms above my head. Everything in my brain was telling me to get the computer. I was only feeling this because of the movie; online places would be giving off sneak peeks to the movie. Other places would be giving spoilers or leaks to the movie which I don't really want to see or read.

I walked over to the bed and grabbed my overnight bag. I turned it over and let the contents fall out. My entire outfit came out on the bed except for the shoes of course. I grinned but then I heard thunder outside.

The frown came back to my face. It had been raining since seven thirty this morning. Kimi didn't like the rain today of all days. The rain would also make it harder for flights out tomorrow if it continued to rain the same way for a while.

I walked to the window and pulled the curtain back. I could barely see outside since the window had water all over it. I heard the shower start in the bathroom and huffed. That girl was going to take forever.

Suddenly my phone began beeping.

I picked it up from the bedside table and flipped it opened.

New text from ♥Robert♥

A grin came to my face.

Hope I did a good enough job in the movie for you. Call me when you get out and tell me how you, Kimi, and Annie liked the movie. Your mom's gone with some of her people to keep the secret name.

I didn't bother replying back. One of these days mom might get a hold of his phone and then things will get even worse.

I smiled at the outside world; even though my mom was with the man I was in love with I was really lucky. I was in love with a man older than me and he loved me back just as much, or I at least hope he did.

I walked back to the bed and collapsed on top. Today was going to be one long day.

*

I stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my waist. I could hear Kimi still trying to get dressed. I make sure the towel is secure and walk up to the mirror wiping the water to see the view. Water was dripping down from my shoulder length brown hair and small droplets of water was running down my arms to the towel.

My face was a little flushed from the shower and heat in the room. The small heater moaned from the floor. I looked down and changed the heat on the heater just a little lower since the heat was trapped in the room.

My undergarments sat on the counter for me to put them on before stepping back out in the bedroom.
“Laura I got a hold of Annie. She wants to just meet us there for the movie.”

“OK Kimi.”

I heard Kimi walk away from the door back to whatever she was doing. I grinned and looked back at the mirror blowing a breath of air from my lips. Dropping the towel I put on my undergarments and fasten it tight around myself.

I find a warm robe hanging on the back of the door and pull my arms through the holes. I tie the strings around the waist and grab the knob opening the door. Kimi was sitting on her bed with the phone connected to her ear while she stuffed her feet in her shoes.

Suddenly she jumped from the bed finally noticing me come from the bathroom. She quickly hung up the phone like she didn't want me knowing who she was talking with. I raised an eyebrow at her antics but didn't comment. If Kimi wanted to tell me than she would because there would be no way she would tell me if I asked. If she didn't want me knowing then I wouldn't know about it.

I walked to my clothes that sat on the bed. Kimi walked around me into the bathroom. She had to fix her face and hair before leaving which was kind of annoying. She always got mad at me saying that not all of us looked good enough when waking from the bed and wearing that look all day.

It wasn't my fault I would tell her I just get up and comb my hair putting on simple make up and that's it. I don't cake my face and let my eyes and natural shine through. I didn't care much about my appearance like others did so it came natural. It seems the more someone cares about their appearance the more they try to improve but if you know you have a natural beauty than you don't try to improve which makes things easier.

I shrug my shoulders as Kimi closes the door some to keep in the heat. I look down at my black New Moon shirt and dark blue skinny jeans. I smile and untie to the robe letting it slid from my shoulders. I pull out the pants first and place my legs inside pulling them up to my waist. The bathroom door came opened and I looked up to see Kimi standing in the doorway with her mouth wide open.

I suddenly felt self-conscious and started trying to hide from view. She snapped out of her trance and gave me a smile.

“Damn Laura, Robert doesn't know what he's missing.”

I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks. I dropped the robe since I was trying to hide behind it. Kimi just whistled and clapped loving how embarrassed she was making me. I quickly pull the black shirt over my head. The shirt had both Edward and Jacob on the front with a quote from Bella: “Please don't make me choose.”

I thought it was perfect for the whole Switzerland concept. Kimi had on a pair of looser dark blue jeans with a white shirt with Edward on the front.

I pulled out my new black converse shoes with a red hook around the back. I placed my feet inside with tied the laces on top. Kimi started putting on her jewelry which made me look around for mine once I was done with my shoes.

I had a necklace, two bracelets, and a brown beanie that was a team Jacob thing. I found my black jacket with Edward and Bella on the front with a quote on the back. I glanced at Kimi to find her pulling on her Jacob jacket, we were kind of mix matching. She had a gray Cullen beanie on her head. I grabbed my Twilight purse while she grabbed her Jacob bag. I pulled out my Edward umbrella enjoying how she grumbled about it. She grabbed her green and white umbrella that had writing all over it.

“Well Laura let's get going. It's already after eleven and the first showing is at twelve forty five.”

I nodded my head and followed her out of the room. She decided to stop by the kitchen for a bottle water to take with us. I grinned and walked to the front door pulling it open.

“Kimi who's car are we taking?”

She flipped off the lights as she walked to me.

“Which one do you want to take? I mean the roads are going to be very slippery.”

I sighed, “Yours then. The steering on the jeep gets worst during the rainy weather.”

She nodded her head and pulled her umbrella forward. I stepped aside to let her go first so she could open the car door.

“I'll lock this door Kimi you just go ahead to the car.”

She nodded her head opening the umbrella and running to the car. I stepped out and opened my umbrella turning the lock on the back of the door. I pulled it shut behind me making sure that it was locked up nice and tight.

I look back toward the car to see Kimi inside warming herself up. I run through the rain toward the passenger side of her car. Before getting inside I close my umbrella and then fall inside the car slamming the door closed.

Letting Kimi come to the car first had been a great idea. She had the heater on full blast warming the car up and now it was fairly warm inside the car. Kimi was rubbing her hands together while looking at me.

“Laura I swear. I don't understand how you do it. I mean I have been thinking about you and Robert. I admire how you are handling this. If it was me I would have hurt my own mother because she was with the man I love. Don't deny that you don't love him because I can see it on your face whenever you talk about him or even think about him. I honestly don't think I loved Christopher nearly as much as you love Robert right now.”

I grinned as my eyes teared up some.

“Yeah well there isn't much I can do. I do love him which means I love him too much to not be with him. I do hate my mother but she doesn't know anything. If she did she would disown me and that wouldn't be good since I need her for college.”

Kimi shook her head as she changed gears heading toward the theater.

***
Kimi and I were standing outside by the ticket holder waiting on Annie. We had all bought our tickets online; we just had to get the tickets from the person at the booth. Annie told us she was having a difficult time getting here but she would be here with time to spare.

“This damn rain is freezing. She needs to hurry her big ass up before I get my ticket and go inside.”

I laughed at her comment. Then suddenly I remembered the last time we were here for the first movie. Alex and Stacy were here with us watching the movie. It was so strange how much things had changed in a little over a years’ time.

I could feel the tear sliding down my cheek.

“Laura? Robin? Are you OK?”

I turned my head toward Kimi and gave her my best attempt at a smile.

“I am fine. I was just remembering last year when we came to see this with Alex and Stacy.”

Kimi smiled and suddenly I saw tears in her eyes as well. She had been thinking the same things as me.

“Well you know Alex is watching over us with Blake. Things are much better for them now. They can't be made fun of or condemned for their love.”

I nodded my head. I never told anyone about the reason Max had done everything. His family for surely wouldn't want anything to do with him then. Max was in love with Alex, he always had been but that was his own confession to make not mine. People already hated his guts since he confessed to having something to do with my kidnapping and Alex's and Blake's deaths. Things would have been even worse if everyone knew about him being bisexual.

Suddenly a small yellow taxi cab came to a stop a little bit away from the curb. The back door came opened and this clear umbrella came out with the words I ♥ Rain on the side. The person stepped out after paying the driver and I saw Annie.

She spotted Kimi and I, then started running toward us. She stopped right in front of us shivering as she shook off the rain from her jacket.

“Nice umbrella, Annie,” replied Kimi.

My eyes scanned her choice in clothing. She had on a dark green jacket over her shirt but I could tell that the shirt was the black Alice shirt she bought the other day with us. Her legs were covered in a pair of white skinny jeans. She had the same hat that Kimi wore since she was more a Cullen fan than anything else. She didn't want to choose a side so she chose the under-appreciated Cullen family which of course meant she loved Alice.

She still had on the jewelry like bracelets and the necklace she had bought. She was even caring a small Cullen hand bag. Then I noticed she had on some red heart shaped sun glasses on top of her head.

“What's the shades for Annie?” I asked.

She shrugged.

“Well I wanted the umbrella to match my outfit. Plus the rainy day was a drag so why not liven it up some?”

Kimi chuckled, “OK how about we get our tickets and then get snacks before we find our seats.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

We all got in line and then got our tickets separately. Kimi was the first inside at the snack counter. Annie chuckled at her antics.

“I always thought Alex was exaggerating about how she acted but now that I've met her maybe that wasn't the case.”

I smiled, “Yeah Kimi is some else. She's really the bestest friend anyone could ask for, she's helped me more than she will ever know.”

Annie smiled but it didn't quite reach her eyes. She must have noticed my stare.

“Today must be hard for you. I know it's hard for me, Blake and I went to see the first one with his date for the day. The guy didn't show so we went just us. Best day I had ever had, I never got to tell Blake that though which is why this day seems to mean so much for me. I know Alex came with you and Kimi last year so I know you both must miss him.”

I nodded my head.

“Yeah but like Kimi said they are better where they are. They are at peace with the world now. No one can hate their love for one another so I think they prefer it where they are than to be here where we are.”

She nodded and I could see the tears in her eyes.

“Are you attending Alex's funeral with your family?” I asked.

She shook her head.

“No I will be alone. Mom never met Alex so she won't go if she doesn't know the person. Plus she wasn't a big fan of Blake's sexuality like everyone else. He was completely gay but he wasn't like most gays. He was still a guy you know he still liked working on cars and the manly things guys do, nothing much changed about him when he came out. Mom, I think, was shocked about how nothing changed, she didn't meet anyone he dated since she said she didn't want to and Blake understood. She didn't love him any less just in a different way I guess.”

I nodded my head.

“Well Kimi's mom is going with her and my mom and her boyfriend are attending with me hopefully. Things are just complicated at the moment, so I am not sure if they will attend or not.”

“HEY GUYS!”

Annie and I jumped at the velocity of Kimi's voice. I gave her a glare before I looked to see what she had gotten.

“Don't think you are going to get away with stealing my nachos or candy again. Get your own this is all mine.”

She had a small popcorn, a container of nachos, two boxes of assorted candy, and a medium drink. I shook my head at her. The last time we had come here Stacy and I had stolen her candy from her because we didn't want to miss the movie by leaving to get our own. The last time she got mad because she had offered to share her nachos with me but I ate most of them. I couldn't help, I was hungry plus I loved making her annoyed, it was fun.

I nodded my head and was next in line.

“Hello welcome to the Malco. What can I get you?”

“I will take a small popcorn, with butter. Some nachos and cheese, one box of Hershey assorted candy, a big pretzel, and a medium coke please.”

The person behind the counter nodded and started getting my things together. There weren't many times when I could splurge at the theaters but the Twilight movies were special occasions.

“That would $20.58”

I handed the person $21.00 and they gave me my change. They put everything in one of those black holders for me to carry around. I gave them a thanks and a smile and turned around to my friends. Annie was looking shocked at everything but Kimi was shaking her head.

“I forgot about the damn pretzel, you should share.”

I gave her a look that meant, no way am I sharing since you aren't. She gave me a glare.

“Laura how about you go find us some seats? I will stay back with Annie until she gets everything.”

I gave her a gracious smile and turned toward the hall for the theater rooms. There was an older man taking tickets and showing people which theater were there's. I started to feel uneasy about all the people going into one theater. I sure hoped that there were enough seats for all of us. Finally it was my turn.

I handed him my ticket.

“Looks like someone got enough to do for two movies.”

I could feel my cheeks warming.

“It's a special occasion at the theater. No time like then to get what you want at the theater.”

He chuckled and nodded.

Handing my ticket piece he said, “Theater One, behind me.”

I let out a breath of air I didn't know I was holding. Most of the people had chosen the same movie but one that came on twenty minutes after the one we had chosen.

I walked into the theater after someone from theater held the door open for me. I came around the staircase and looked at how many people were in here. My eyes bugged out at how many people were actually in here. I saw so many young girls that were obviously younger that, Kimi, Annie, and I.

Well this wasn't going to be the best movie experience. I walked up the set of stairs up to the very top and found plenty of seat for everyone. I placed my food down in the middle seat and the started removing my hat and jacket. I placed my jacket over the seat to my right and then my purse in the one on my left. This way no one would take the seats.

I took the seat in the middle and started snacking on my nachos. The popcorn would be left for during the movie, an essential part of any movie experience.

While snacking on my nachos I heard Kimi's voice on the stairs.

“I can't believe how many young girls are here.”

Then Annie's voice.

“They are here to go gaga over Taylor Lautner.”

I heard Kimi giggle as she found where I was sitting.

“There you are. Now I am taking the seat to you left.”

I moved my purse as she plopped her but in my seat. I looked to see what Annie had gotten. I laughed. She had gotten some popcorn, a slice of pizza, a pretzel, and a medium coke.

She grinned. I pulled out some of my candy.

“You can have some of my candy Annie.”

We all started getting ready for movie to come on when suddenly the lights dimmed. My heart was drumming a mile a minute and my stomach was in a bunch of knots for this movie.

***
Two hours and ten minutes later the movie was over.

“I can't believe neither of you told me he was leaving. I hadn't watched any trailers. Man I am such a baby.”

Annie had started tearing up at the moment when Edward left Bella. I shook my head as I started putting on my jacket and my hat.

“I hate when people start yelling out when someone removes his shirt. I was trying to listen, that was just so horrible,” said Kimi.

I chuckled. Most of the young audience had oohed when Taylor took his shirt off when Bella had gotten hurt from the bike.

Annie was the first down the stairs followed by me and then Kimi. The stairs were packed as we walked down the stairs. It took about six minutes to get out of the theater room.

We walked to the front doors grinning from our good time.

“So what did everyone think?”

Kimi smiled, “It was better than the first but not by much. Kristen could have done a much better job at being depressed.”

Annie shrugged, “The new director was much better than the first. I agree that Kristen could have done better. Robert did a good job considering he wasn't actually there for most of it.”

“I agree with all of you. Although most of the times when Taylor was shirtless or something it seemed forced. Especially when Bella was hurt from the bike. It was supposed to be natural and that wasn't very natural of you ask me.”

Kimi chuckled and Annie laughed.

“Annie?” said Kimi.

Annie calmed down and looked toward Kimi.

“Do you want to ride with us? I mean you can't take a cab because I won't let you.”

Annie gave a smile and nodded.

We stepped out of the theater bring our umbrella's up, walking toward Kimi's car.

Well there you have it chapter 40 the day New Moon came to theaters. It's crazy how much time has past since then. Now the second and last part is coming out at the end of this year. it's nice to be able to go back to that time and think about what I was doing when it came out and who I went with.

So I have a mission for my fans. I honor of this story and the twilight series you have to comment. Well you don't have to but I thought it would be a good idea. So like the characters tell us about what your first thoughts were of the movie. Please no hate comments, if you are going to leave hate comments about the movie just don't comment.
Tell us who you went with and about your experience.

I actually did experience the younger girls screaming when Jacob removed his shirt to wipe Bella's blood. it was really annoying, I mean yeah he's great looking but that was just uncalled for. It disrupted everyone else's time at the theater. Not to mention my brother and I were late since the line had so long, nor did we have popcorn. The bottom seats were so uncomfortable.

Well I shared my experience and no it's your turn. Time for the outfits:
