I'd Come For You

I Despise You

Image

Temari was staring at Jasmine as she woke up.

“Where’s Gaara?” she asked.

“Temari, I need to talk to her; alone.”

“Oh, right!” Temari disappeared.

She stood. “Gaara-”

“Listen to me, and listen to me now. I despise you. That is why I left. You were becoming a nuisance.”

“I should have known.” She looked at him sadly. “You can never love me.”

A shocked look covered his face. “What?”

Her smile faced and her face became cold. “Nothing,” she snapped. “I shouldn’t have said anything.”

“What the hell did you-”

“It doesn’t matter! Why do you even care? You despise me, remember?”

“Temari,” he called.

Temari appeared next to her. “Yes?”

“Let’s go; I’m done here.”

Temari scowled. “What?”

“Just go,” demanded Jasmine.

“We are not leaving the Leaf Village!”

“Whatever. Just get me away from her.”

“I was going to say the same thing myself.”

“But-”

“Temari,” he snapped, “do you want to make me angry?”

“No, Gaara, not at all,” she said quickly, starting to walk away.

Gaara followed.

Jasmine was so depressed that her whole body was numb.

“Jasmine.”

She rose her eyes, but didn’t move. “Kankuro?”

“I was wondering, why is Gaara”--she flinched--”so pissed off?”

“I should be the pissed one,” she growled.

“Should I take you to-”

“No!” She jumped to her feet and prepared to fight if he came at her. “I don’t want anything to do with him!” What a liar I am.

He frowned. “What the hell happened?”

“He despises me.”

“Bull-fucking-shit.”

She glared at him.

Neji was walking with Jasmine, an awkward silence between them. “He doesn’t despise you,” he suddenly said.

She looked at him. “How do you know?”

“I just do.”

“No…”

“Just trust me, okay?”

“Neji. I’m sorry, but I have to go do something.” She ran the other way. I need pain.

“What’s her problem?”

Jasmine watched blood run down her wrist. Taking a shuriken, she shoved it deep into her arm.

After an hour of cutting, her wounds had sealed and there were fresh scars in their place.

Taking off her headband, she tied it onto her wrist and pulled a wristband over her other wrist.

“Neji!” she said a little too enthusiastically.

“Um, hi. What’s…up? Why’d you run off so quickly?”

“Oh, that. I had…business…to attend to.”

He looked suspicious. “In the woods?”

“Well, yeah!”

“I doubt it, but I’ll let it go.”

“Thanks,” she whispered.

“I despise you. That’s why I left. You were becoming a nuisance!”

“I need to find him,” she muttered.

“What?”

“Sorry, thinking out loud.”
