"Babygirl," I scoffed.
"Macy, every time we're near each other, we argue,"
"I don't make it that way," We were parked in front of my house.
I got out, he peered across the seat.
"Call me when your car is fixed, I'll take you to pick it up."
"Yeah," I shut the door and walked up the driveway.
My heart was racing, why did I feel like I was sixteen again? My voice was insanely squeaky as I tried to answer my calling Mom.
She kissed my cheek as I followed her into the kitchen.
"You and that boy, good for each other, while being so bad for each other,"
I laughed lightly, "What are you saying?"
"I see the love in your eyes,"
"You do?"
"PUNKIN!" My Dad's voiced sweetly shouted for me.
"Bye Ma."
I sprinted towards the living room, my Dad's excited face screaming insecurities at me. I smiled kissing his cheek, he returned with a kiss to the forehead.
"I am so glad you are here everyday," He smiled as a Cardinals game played before him.
"Me too Daddy,"
"Jared told me your car broke down, I have some money for you,"
"Dad, no,"
"Punkin, just take it, if you need it, I have it,"
I reluctantly removed the money from his hand.
"Dad, this is a thousand dollars, that's insane."
"Ah, Macy, take it, save it, do something with it. Don't you need to pay to get your car fixed?"
"Uh, Kennedy did."
"That boy again? What's going on between you two?"
"Nothing that I know of,"
"He just did something nice for me Daddy,"
"Mhm, take that and go do something. Take that boy out or something."
Jared walked in at the right moment.
