Let's Get One Thing Straight,

Party like it's summer,

"Are you listening?" I wasn't.
"Macy?" What?

I stood up, walking slowly toward my car, my name being called, I ignored it. The fire was dancing against my car, and the wind was blowing harder than I had noticed. My hair was flying in every which direction, but all I could feel was, nothing.

"Macy, what the fuck is going on?" He persisted.
"MACY," He shouted, and I flinched.
"I just want my brother," I whispered, nearly in tears.
"Whatever," John walked away, irritably pointing Jared in my direction.

"Mace, what's wrong," He looked at me, clueless.
"I'm wrong," I whispered, my eyes threatening to spill salty tears.
"Mace," He cleared some hair from my eyes and hugged me tightly.
"Jared, I want to run,"
"You can't leave again Macy," He looked at me with risen eyebrows.
"Jare, I can't handle this, he's the whole reason I came back,"
"You let him go Macy,"
"No, I never let him go," I lost it.

I was curled into John's chest, my eyes sore as ever, my throat burning severely. His arms were around me tightly, his lips in my hair. I could still smell the fire, and all the boys were still talking as I wrapped my arms around John's neck. His laughter vibrated through his chest and shook me lightly.

"You awake?"
"Yeah," I whispered hoarsely.
"I love you, you know,"
"I do. I love you too," I placed my head on his shoulder and kissed his neck softly.

"Can we go?"
"Already?"
"I want to leave John."
"Okay, alright," He stood up, placing his arm around my shoulders.
"We're gonna head out," He announced.

All I could focus on were the brown eyes, they were stealing all my breath. His arms were around the pretty blond, and his teeth were bright as he laughed. I felt the jealousy creep into my stomach, I laced my hands with John, afraid they'd end up around the blond's throat if not.

"Bye Mace, I love you," Jared kissed my forehead.
"I love you too," I hugged him so tight.
"Sweet dreams little sister."
"I hope nothing but."

Our goodbyes were exchanged, I spoke not a word to Kennedy. And John was beginning to notice the anger radiating through my body.
"Why were you staring Mace?"
"I wasn't."
"Bullshit."
"John, I wasn't fucking staring."
"Whatever," He shoved my keys into my hands.
"Why are you acting like this?" I questioned.
"Uhm, I don't know maybe because you couldn't even keep your eyes off of those two,"
"I wasn't even staring!" I shouted.
"We're not going to start this, just drop me off at home," He stared out the window.

The silence filled my car as I drove toward his house. I was fuming, whether it was John noticing the staring, or Kennedy and the Blond. I was feeling more and more guilty as we reached his house, we sat in the car for 5 minutes until I faced John.
"I'm sorry," I whispered stroking his cheek.
"I know," He touched my hand, kissing my fingers softly.
"I was just surprised,"
"Jealous," He corrected, I looked down.
"Yeah, jealous," I agreed.
"I know it's hard," He laced our fingers.
"Mhm," I shook my head.
"But I love you, and until you can scare me away, I'm still here," He reassured me.
"I love you too," I pulled my knees to my chest.
"Come spend the night," He smiled his popular lopsided grin.
"I shouldn't,"
"But you are," He smiled and kissed my lips.
"But I am," I agreed getting out of my car.

It doesn't matter where we are.
It doesn't matter where we are.
It doesn't matter if we're states apart.
