A Party Song

I walked in the house to see my brother, Jayden and my dad yelling at the TV, the Ravens where playing, figures. I ran upstairs to my room and put my bags down. I guessed my mom and baby sister, Samantha, or Sammy, were already at the dentist. And my older sister Ashley, in her bedroom, probably catching up on the latest gossip in the celebrity world, or even at school, and painting her nails pink, while listening to Miley Cyrus. There was a knock on the door.

"Come in" I said.

"Hey honey, how was your first day of school? Did you make a lot of friends? Did you get to all your classes okay? No ones picking on you, are they?" my dad asked.

"No Dad, everything's been fine at school. Yeah, I made some new friends, Kara Diakoulas, and Kennadee Thomas, and they introduced me to some of their friends" I nodded.

"Oh good. Kennadee Thomas? I'm sure her father is one of my co-workers. Hmm, Dr. Drew Thomas! Is that it?" Dad said eagerly. I shrugged. "Well Dr. Drew Thomas is a great man! I'm sure he raised his daughter well! I approve. Anyways, your mom left some lasagna on the table if you get hungry kiddo" he said. I nodded. "I think the game is back on. I'm gonna go watch with your brother, see you later" he said kissing the top of my head and closing the door. I plopped onto my bed and sighed. I sat up, and put my iPod on it's dock. Blink 182 poured through the speakers.

The next day-

I closed my locker, with a stack of books piled in my hands, and was stumbling all over the place, people were starting to stare. I couldn't even see where I was going, I sighed, and tilted my head to the side, looking in front of me. Someone grabbed half the books off of the stack. I looked to see Jack.

"Haha, woah. You okay?" he asked lifting the books into his own arms.

"Yeah, just a bit heavy" I laughed a bit. "Thanks"

"No worries, what do you have next?" he asked.

"Algebra" I responded. He nodded as we turned the corner to Mr. Dirk's room. He set the books down on my desk and waved.

"Mr. Barakat!" Mr. Dirk called. He stepped back in the room. "What were you doing in my class? Not fooling around I hope, I can get you a detention for that" he told Jack sternly.

"Just helping a friend with her books Mr. Dirk" Jack said. Mr. Dirk narrowed his eyes at him.

"Carry on, get to class then" Mr. Dirk replied. Jack waved once more and took off. I took my seat. Kennadee on one side, Rian on the other, and Alex on the other side of Kennadee. They all smirked at me, and class started.

Lunch-

I looked around the lunchroom confused until I saw Kara waving me over. I smiled and walked over. They all mumbled hello, picking at their lunches. "So did you hear? The dance is coming up in two weeks!" Kennadee chimed. Lisa laughed playing with her hair and looking up at Alex. Rian and Kara smiled at each other, Kennadee looked around the lunchroom at all the guys. And I just gave them a weak smile. Kennadee and Kara smirked at me.

"We need to find you a hot date!" Kara told me.

"Oh, it's okay, would you mind if I went with you guys?" I asked shaking my head.

"Well of course you're coming with us! But you need some man candy!" Kennadee suggested.

"What about you?" I asked her.

"Don't worry about me, I can find myself a date in 2 weeks"

"Oh and I can't?" I asked cocking an eyebrow at her. Truth was, I couldn't. I had only ever had 1 serious thing with a guy in my lifetime.

"Sweetie, I didn't say that. What I meant was, you don't know anyone at this school except us. You need to know who you can date, and the guys to stay away from. And Kara and I will happily provide you with advice"

"Fine..."

"That's the spirit!"
