Bulletproof

Wynter & Willa Walo

“Wynter!” Missy shouted, wrapping her arms around me. We’d agreed to meet them at some pub. She was already tipsy by the looks of it.
“Hey Missy,” I grinned embracing her back. She ushered me to the table, pulling me away from Ville, who gave her a displeased look.
“Are you loving Helsinki?” she asked as we sat down, squeezing into the booth next to Dico and Dunn who were stuffing their faces with food.
“Yes! Besides the weather, this place is amazing,” I said giving Ville’s arm a squeeze.
“Well WE have been busy too,” Bam said coming up behind us and snatching Ville’s hat off his head to ruffle his hair.
“Oh yeah? What have you been up to without me to keep you out of trouble?” Ville grinned up at him and grabbed his hat back quickly.
“Oh, you know the usual… skatin’ and drinkin’,” Bam replied with a sluggish smile before making his way to his seat across from us and grabbing Missy’s beer out of her hand and finishing it, to her disapproval.
“Ah, the best way to spend your vacation,” Ville smiled as he leaned back and draped his arm over my shoulder lazily. I snuggled into his side eagerly, happy to have his body heat as the cold was still getting to me.

We ordered our food while Bam and the boys went back and forth, all the while I sat back and watched, content to be in Ville’s arms and with my family but not in the chaos for once.

As the meal ended, I got up to use the bathroom.

“Wait Wyn, I’ll come with you,” Missy managed, detangling herself from Bam’s eager clutches.
“Yeah Wyn, ya gotta watch that you don’t get widnapped now that you’re Wille Walo’s wirlfriend,” Bam laughed, joined in by Ville, Dunn, and Dico. They’d still yet to explain the W thing but I just went along with it.
“You sure? I can manage,” I offered but waited, nonetheless.
“Us ladies have to stick together!” she explained loudly, wrapping her arm around mine and tugging us toward the restroom.

I’d just peed and started washing my hands when she spoke.

“So, you guy fucked right?”
I about choked on air.
“No, we haven’t! I wish everyone would stop asking about that!” I sputtered, my face turning vermillion.
“Girl why not!? You’ve had two chances now!” she whined from the stall behind me.
“I don’t know. We’re just not there yet, it’ll happen when it happens!” I explained noisily as I tried to rub away the blush that was eminent on my cheeks. It’s not like I didn’t want to…
“Well has he tried?” she questioned. I thanked God that we were alone and there was nobody else to hear this conversation.
“I mean, no not really… I tried though. He shot me down,” I added dishearteningly, rubbing the back of my neck with one hand and looking down at the tile floor.
“What the fuck do you mean he shot you down?” She was out of the stall suddenly, giving me an angry look as she pulled her pants up.
“I dunno, he just… said he wanted to wait and gave me this whole talk about how he wants other stuff first,” I explained sheepishly, barely meeting her gaze in the mirror as she approached me from behind.
“Like head?” she looked at me quizzically.
“Oh my God Missy no! Like he wants to make sure this is what I want and wants to get to know me and shit! Plus I mean, I blame myself for him saying no, I have no idea what I’m doing or how to be sexy,” I gave her a embarrassed look as she watched me.
“Goddamnit Wyn, there’s nothing wrong with you. And honestly, the fact he said that is super sweet,” she commented with a honied smile. “He’s definitely got heart eyes for you.”
“Well I’ve got heart eyes for him too, but fuck I’ve got a lady boner for him also, I just don’t know how to express that,” I confessed, the words feeling odd but relieving coming out. I knew the mechanics of sex and I wasn’t a complete idiot but talking about it seemed so taboo. It felt nice to have Missy to talk to, she was like a kick ass older sister.
“Hey bitches are ya’ll done wowdering your noses?!” I heard Bam yell outside the door.
I looked at Missy as she rolled her eyes and smiled at me.
“I’m gonna help you out Wyn.”

------------------------------------------------------------------
“So where are we going now?” I interrogated Ville as we said our goodbyes and made our way to his car.
“It’s a surprise but one I think you will thoroughly enjoy,” he purred, helping me into my side with a kiss on the cheek. “I hope you don’t mind a bit of a road trip.”
“Of course not,” I smiled up at him as he shut my door. I watched him make his way over to his own and slide gracefully into the seat and start the engine.

What Missy had said to me was still ringing in my ears. She was going to help me? How? She hadn’t elaborated, simply said she knew where Ville was taking me, and she had her own surprise in store.
What did they have planned?

*a few hours later*

The sun was dipping behind the horizon as we pulled into a mostly empty parking lot.

“You can see the stars so well here!” I said inspecting the sky through the window. It wasn’t even fully dark yet and I could see them twinkling like a thousand crystal clear diamonds. I turned to grin at him.
“Perfect weather for the occasion,” Ville commented with a chuckle like he was hiding something.

Everything was in Finnish and I couldn’t tell where we were, but it was rather secluded I noticed. A large cabin-like structure lay ahead of us, nestled between enormous pine trees. Snow blanketed our surroundings and I swear the temperature had fallen even lower as he helped me out of the car, keeping his arm around me and holding me close. If not for the weather, I would’ve liked to stop and enjoy the scenery. We went up to the large cabin and were accompanied inside by a few other people who were eagerly speaking their native tongue.

“We have a bit before the show starts, would you like something to warm you up?” Ville offered and

I blushed immediately until he laughed and motioned over to a booth where two ladies were offering coffee and hot chocolate.

“That would be amazing actually,” I admitted appreciatively, and he got up immediately and went to fetch us the hot beverages. He returned a moment later and handed me the cocoa, as he sipped on what looked like black coffee.
“So still no hints?” I questioned hopefully as I let the warm Styrofoam cup heat my hands.
“Honestly, I’m surprised you haven’t figured it out yet. I suppose it does help that we picked an off day to come here,” he mentioned, glancing around at our surroundings. I followed his gaze, attempting to figure out exactly what we were doing here but to no avail.
“You won’t have to wait much longer kultaseni,” he assured me, leaning in and brushing a strand of my hair out of my eyes.
“I’m sure it will be worth the wait. Everything seems to be when it comes to you,” I replied bravely, testing the waters out as I relaxed into his touch.
“I will try to keep it that way,” he murmured, seemingly searching my eyes for something. We were only inches apart. My breath hitched in my throat.

Whatever he was looking for, he must’ve found it because he quickly joined his lips to mine with the softest of touches, deepening the kiss after a moment. I slipped my free hand up around his neck, playing with the curls there absently as we osculated, his own hands holding my face to his. He tasted like dark coffee and fresh tobacco and it was all I wanted.

“On Aika!” a male voice called out and Ville froze and pulled away, standing and bringing me with him, smiling hugely.
“It’s time love.”
