Everytime you look me in the eyes

"Honey?" Julie Henderson, Austinn's mom said. "What?" Austinn gently responded. "I was wondering.."
She broke off. "Wondering what mom?" "Well.... if maybe this winter break you might want to go visit your
dad and Stacy and Hayley in Colorado." "Are you kidding me? Why would I want to go somewhere cold? We
moved to Florida for a reason! Besides, I thought we were going on vacation to Hawaii! Ugh, and why would I
want to see Stacy and Hayley? There total brats to me." Stacy and Hayley were her new stepmom and stepsister.
Ever since she visited them five years ago she knew she would never be going back there agian. Stacy and hayley
acted like she was a totally not there. They went to the mall together and never invited austinn or they went out
to dinner without even telling her and she had to stay home while they all ate. She told her mother about it but,
of course she never understood and just said 'well, maybe they forgot.' 'Forgot? How do you forget a 12 year old ?'
Austinn said getting a laugh out of that. "Austinn your dad wants to see you and besides it would be
nice if you gave them one more try. That was what? 4 years ago?" Her mother said interrupting her flashbacks.
"Five." Austinn responded. austinn knew that number by heart. That was the year she met that boy across the
street from her dad's house. His name was Jared and he was one year older than her He had the cutest face and
bright blue eyes and the cutest blonde shaggy hair. They used to play everyday up until she got sent back home.
She of course wanted to go back and see him but, she knew she would never go back agian unless her mom
made her and today was the day her mom was making her. "Mom, why does it matter anyway? It's not like you
won't be here so, why do I have to go? Don't I get a choice at all?" "Of course you do sweetie but, I just think
it would be nice to visit him while me and jack go stay in his cabin up in Europe." Jack was her new boyfriend
she met when she went grocery shopping. They met when she didn't know where the tomato sauce was. she asked
'Do you know were the tomato sauce is?' and he responded 'Oh yes. I don't work here but, I do. If you would
follow me I could show you.' and then my mom laughed and then he laughed and then they both laughed more
and then wahlah he asks her out on a date. Now boom they are almost inseperable. I think he is going to ask her
to marry him because he started asking me these wierd questions like... 'What size ring does she wear?' and
'Does she like diamonds?' and 'What would I think of him as my new father.' It sort of made it obvious but, I
didn't tell her because of course he made me promise not to. It's not that I don't like the guy it's just he is a
little strange when it comes to being a father. I mean we can't even have a real conversation without it
involving my mother. It's all he cares about. He doesn't care about me.. but, my mom always said he does but, I
could just always tell he didn't inside that little heart of his. "Oh, so you just decide that your going to Europe
without telling me first and then you just say I have a decision of going to visit my dad's when I really don't?"
Austin said sighing loudly. It got really irritating whenever Jack made plans and my mom always kept them
from me till the last minute. Austin sighed agian. "When do I leave?" throwing her hands up in the air. Her
mom hesitated on what was coming out of her mouth before she went ahead and said it. It better not be soon
thought Austin. "Tom-morrow, same time as me." Her mom said stumbling on the word. "Mom! You can't
expect me to leave tomorrow without not one day notice! I can't believe you did this!" Austin said getting
angry now. Austin got up from the couch she was sitting on, picking up her little Chpoo. A chipoo was a half
chiuahuah and poodle. She was white and had a little pink sweater on. Her name was Bailey but she called
her bay bay for short. She got her for her 17th birthday in August. So, she was only 5 months old. "I get to bring
Bay bay right?" "Of course sweetie. I got a cute kennel for the trip over. I'm really sorry Austinn. I was going to
tell you. I was. I really was I just knew you would get upset and refuse to go. soo-" "So you tell me on the day
before? That makes perfect sense." austinn said laughing to herself. "Oh Austinn don't be impossible. You better
get packing. Your plane leaves tomorrow at 4;30." "Mom, I have plenty of time. It's only 5;20." "Honey it leaves
at 4;30 in the MORNING." "What!?! You have got to be kidding me!!" Austinn yelled dropping Baybay on her
butt on the couch. Austinn put her hands gently on her face and started rubbing her temples. It was her auto-
matic relax tip and this time it didn't work. "Ughhhhhhhhhhhh!" Austinn exclaimed grabbing Baybay off the
couch and making her way over to the stairs. "You are completly ruining my life!" she said for infasis to make
her mom know how mad at her she was. She made her way up to her room to start packing for the worst
vacation ever.

Austinn woke to the sound of something crashing. Austinn turned to look what was making so much
noise. It was her mom trying to get a suitcase down from her closet. "Mom... You have got to be kidding me!"
She moaned. She looked at her clock it was exactly 2;45 in the morning. She looked out her window. Pitch
black. "Mom I swear if you don't get out of my room in the next 5 minutes..." she couldn't finish what she was
going to say. "Honey get up. We have to leave by 3;15." "Ok.... Just go." She moaned getting up. She got up and
grabbed baybay from under the covers at the end of her bed. She opened her slider door to let her out. baybay
waddled out of the room outside. She went over to grab her clothes. She headed over to the bathroom and
slipped them on. She brushed her hair put, some lipgloss on, slipped on her shoes .grabbed her bag, and grabbed
her 2 suitcases and headed downstairs. By the time she got downstairs it was 3;10 exactly. She went to the
kitchen and grabbed a poptart off the counter and grabbed a water and headed out to the car to find her
mom packing up the car with Jack. Baybay was already in the car sitting and wagging her tail. She gave her
suitcases to Jack to put them in the car. "Thanks for being so ok about this." he said to her. Ok about this? Uhuh.
I bet her mom said that to make Jack feel better. She jumped into the car and started eating. She wondered
what her dad would be like, She hadn't seen him since she last visited him. That was 5 years ago. She wondered
if Jared still lived across the street. What if he looked diffrent? what if he wasn't as cute as he was? Would he
remember her at all? She finished her poptart in the couple minutes to spare before they took off.
They were now at least 25 minutes away from the airport. When she got there her mom and Jack and her were
going on totally diffrent flight numbers so, she'd be all by herself. When they got out of the car she grabbed her
two suitcases and swung her purse over her arm, grabbed baybay and took off towards the airport entrance.
She said bye to Jack and her mom and kept walking trowards her flight. Her flight took off in 30 minutes. It
was 4;00 exactly. She headed off to the airport giftshop and bought a couple magazines for the trip over. She
would be in the airplane for 1-2 and a half hours. By the time she got on the plane she realized how tired and
what time it really was right then. She figured if she fell asleep for at least two hours she would be there in no
time. By the time her flight took off she had fell into a lazy slumber.

She woke to the sound of the pilot giving an announcment that they would land in Colorado in less than 5
minutes and everyone needed to unrecline there seats and put up there trays. she sighed. They would be there
in less than two minutes now. What would she say to her father when she saw him? She hadn't seen him for
more than 5 years and she didn't even know if she should say hi or hello or hey. Great. By the time they landed
she was more than ready to get off the stinky plane. She grabbed her stuff and baybay and headed out of the
plane. By the time she got to the stairs there was a problem. How on earth could she carry all her suitcases and
the kennel down the steps. Ugh. She wish her dad met her up in the waiting room. This was crazy. She lifted
both of her suitcases up and over her head and grabbed the kennel lifting it to her chest with her only other
arm and proceeded down the steps. It was all working out until she reached the fifth to last step, she tripped
over her own brand new shoes and all her suitcases tumbled all the way down the steps and landed next to
some guy's feet. "Shoot!" She carried the Kennel down the steps and left it on the bottum step grabbing her
two suitcases but, then finding her suicases also being picked up by the guy standing next to them. She let him
lift them up so she could roll them away but, the moment she looked up into his eyes to say thankyou she was
lost in thoes baby blue eyes of his. He had long eyelashes and curvy eyebrows that gently made there way around
his eyes. He had shaggy blonde hair and was wearing tight skinny jeans and a black long sleeved top and some
black converses. She was so caught up in his cuteness she couldn't speak. "I..I..- Uhh, Thanks." She managed to squeaked out.
"No problem. It looked like you were going to drop thoes when you were coming down the stairs." "Were you
watching me or something?" She said smiling. "Uhh did you want me to be watching you?." He said blushing a deep red color. She just laughed. "I'm
Austinn..." "Austinn? Wait.. Austinn Henderson?" He said stepping gently away. Why was he stepping away and
how did he know her name?? "Uhh, ya.. How did you know that?" she said feeling uncomfortable. "I uhh, I'm
Jared.. Jared Jonson?" Oh my gosh! It was Jared! No wonder he looked kinda familiar. "Jared? Oh my gosh.
I .. I what are you doing here? I haven't seen you since like.. oh my gosh, hi." "Hey. I am supposed to pick you
up for your dad. You look so diffrent.." "You too. Wait, my dad sent you??" She said getting upset now. He
couldn't just pick her up this one time? He hadn't seen her in 5 years and he couldn't just pick her up?? Ugh.
"Ya.. I mean no.. well, I voulnteered when your dad said he couldn't.. He had to work just a little bit later." uhuh
that's what always happens. Excuses excuses excuses. Couldn't he just pick up his own daughter? he hadn't seen
her for 5 years and he couldn't get out of work for a hour?? Ughh. "Oh." She said just one syllable. "Is something
wrong?" He said cutely. "No.. Its just that's what he always does.. He cant just get out of work for an hour?" She
Sighed. "I.. uhh, I don't know I.. I just volunteered to get you." "Volunteered? Realy? .. Thanks." "No problem.
I just figured since I havent seen you in what? Five years? I thought we could hang for a bit." "That sounds
good." He smiled looking up and down her outfit. She was wearing a jean skirt and a black tight top that
made her boobs buldge. "I think you see what you like. Mmm?" she said grinning and picking up her kennel and walking around
him towards the exit. He caught up with her quickly. He was still carrying her to suitcases and he still looked
cute as ever. He must of felt her checking him out because he let out a big grin. "So, you can check me out but,
I can't check you out? Mmm?" He said laughing to himself sort of mimicking her on the last part. "Oh shutup."
She said Grinning and smacking his chest with her free hand. "I havent seen you in what? Five years and
already your hitting on me?" She said looking up at his face grinning. " Haven't you ever heard the statement
don't waste time on things you could've done? You don't know how much time you got till its gone?" "Oh I
didn't know people actually wasted there time comprehending on there fortune cookies and actually trying
them out." she said Smirking waiting for his next witty comment but, thats when they reached the car.
He grabbed her suitcases setting them in the back of his truck and opening the door for Austinn. "Thankyou."
She said smirking but, before she could get fully into the car she felt a hand around her waist.
She felt tips of someones Jareds? fingertips slipping her hair back away from her ear and she felt his
breath as he whispered into her ear. "Hey, If you think im the one trying to get you. Its turned around hun.
You are the one who kissed me on the day you left." She turned around fast in his arms watching them drop
to his side. She felt herself out of words. " That-- was a long time ago.. and by what I remember you kissed back.
So if you wanna turn this all around on me. Admit it. You liked me. Hm?" She felt the hands go around her
waist agian.She felt the whisper agian. "Alright. I liked you. That was a longg longg time ago though, and
besides you've changed." She pulled away. " I've changed? How? I mean you knew me when I was 12! Of course
Ive changed." " For starters look at the way your dressed. Highheels? They don't suit you. What'd you do?
Get on the Cheerleading Squad? Hook up with the Football quarterback and finally learn to flirt and act
like everyone wants you? You've changed Austinn. Your not the sweet girl who used to walk around with
mudd on her jeans not caring what other people thought. Your this other girl. I don't even know her and Im
Starting to not like her." He said walking away and opening the drivers door and jumping onto the seat. She
had nothing to say to him so she jumped up into her seat and closed the door and she felt the car move.
Signing her freedom from him in the next thirty minutes.

By the time they got on the road. Austinn was furious. She looked out the window trying not to comprehend what went on about ten minutes ago. I havent changed. Have I? she looked at Jared and his hands on the wheel. She turned away before he caught her staring at him. They turned onto a dirt road, feeling the rocks beneath the car and having the car lurch up and down wasn't exactly comfortable. She looked ahead of her and saw a cute little house snuggled between trees and a awfully lot of grass. Then she saw behind it two white horses. She looked over at Jared who was staring at her. "What?" She gently said. "Nothing.. just seeing if you remembered."
"Remembered what?" "Harmony." "Of course I remember her." She looked away from Jared sighing and they finally came to a stop in front of the house.
She looked at the small white house with the blue trim and the big wrap around porch. She looked beyond the house and farther into the grass where she saw the gazebo. She felt her breath catch in her throat and she felt Jared look at her and to where

she was looking. Austinn looked down at her feet and then at Jared. Had she really changed? She looked down at her newly pink highheels. She felt the highheels fade away and she looked down and saw the suede cowboy boots on her feet. this is wasn't her.. and all she needed was someone to tell her that. She looked at her shoes slipping them off and jumping out of the car. She felt Jared's eyes on her but she didn't dare look. She felt the grass underneath her feet and grabbed baybay's kennel and went around to the back of the truck where
Jared was getting her suitcases out of the car. She grabbed them as soon as they hit the ground. "Thanks." she said feeling even sicker to her stomach she just wanted to go in and change. She went around to the front door dropping everything in the process. She felt someone grab them and lift
them up. She felt the soft whisper in her ear. "You may have changed but your still as clumsy as ever." she felt herself lightly smile and she carried baybay into the house.
She felt Jared behind her with her suitcases. "Anybody home?" she heard jared say. "I guess everyone is gone for the day. Your bedroom is.." she cut him off. "Upstairs on the left. I know." She said
lightly smiling. She grabbed her stuff and walked up the steps to her old bedroom. The door still had the horse stickers on it and the sign do not enter Jared. She remembered making it when she was mad at him. They got into a big fight over what horse they
were gonna ride. They both wanted Harmony. She traced her fingers over the writing on the sign. She felt herself laughing and she then felt the hand covering hers on the sign. "You still remember?" He said laughing as well. "Yeah. I remember being so
mad at you I couldnt even look at you. Is Harmony okay?" She asked. "Yeah. She's great actually. I rode her yesterday." "Oh? I wonder if she will remember me.." She took her hand off the sign underneath his and heard a small sigh come from her lips. She felt Jared looking at her but she walked into
the room anyways. She set her stuff down and went and sat down on her small twin bed. She looked at the walls filled with drawings and art Jared and her made when they were little kids. Then she saw it. On the nightstand. The silver ring. Jared gave it to her as a going away present but she left it here on accident and never came back to retreive it. She picked it up and felt someone sit on the bed next to her. She traced her finger over the engraved initials.
A & J forever. She looked over at Jared who was now looking at her in the eyes. She ouldnt stand it anymore than he could. she got up from the bed and walked over to her suitcase pulling out jeans and a white v-neck shirt. "I'll umm be right back.. Im gonna change.." She felt jared about to say something but closed the bathroom door before he could. She slipped on the outfit and held the ring in her hand.. She slipped it on her necklace feeling it
drift just a little bit lower then her shirt went. So Jared wouldnt see her wearing it. She opened the door finding Jared still there on her bed looking out the window at the nice scenery. She walked past him to her closet slipping on her brown cowboy boots. "Lets go see harmony." She said walking over to him and grabbing his hand pulling him over to the door and down the steps and outside.

Me and Jared got to the stables in no time. Wierd as it was we were still holding hands. He never let go. I assumed he would but he never did. I opened
Harmonys stable door and saw her standing there. I dropped Jareds hand walking over to Harmony. "Hey there girl." I said smiling. I lifted my hand and gently petted her neck. I felt her push on my hand so that'd I'd pet her more. I grabbed the brush from the shelf and brushed her back. "I missed you." I said to Harmony. I turned around seeing Jared closer than I expected. "I was wrong.." He said. "About what..?" I
said looking down at my boots. "I was wrong. About you changing. I knew that austinn was still in there somewhere it just took a little bit to get her out." I looked up at him. "That austinn has always been here Jared. Just because I dressed diffrently doesnt mean that Im not the same austinn. Havent you ever heard Dont judge a book by its cover?" I said.
"I know that.. I just.. I got so excited. I couldn't believe you were coming and I just expected you to be the same girl as you were years ago. Sad as that sounds. You are. The same girl you just didnt dress like her. Not that I didn't like that outfit.." He said grinning. I laughed and looked down at the ground. Only to have a hand on my chin pull it back up agian. I felt him gently tuck a piece of hair that came out of my bun under my ear and I felt him trace my cheekbones and then felt him stop. Its like he finally
realized what he was doing. He lifted his hand putting it around my waist instead. "I missed you." He said. I closed my eyes . Ive been waiting for him to say that all day. "I missed you too." I said sighing and stepping closer to him closing the space between us. I layed by head on his shoulder wrapping one of my arms around his neck. I felt him let out a small sigh.
And I felt his hand in my hair combing it out of its bun letting it loose. I felt him play with the ends of it and I felt my eyes flutter closed agian. Then I heard it. The Opening of the Stable door and the clear of a throat. Jared must of heard it too because he stepped away and so did I.I looked behind me to be face to face with my father. "Welcome home baby."
He said smiling. " I just stared. I hadn't seen my father in five years and he looked so diffrent. "Well are you gonna stare all day or give me a hug?" He said. I ran over to him and hugged him. "I missed you." I said. " Imissed you too but I see you missed Jared more." and I felt him Grin. I pulled away groaning. I felt Jareds hand slip into mine. "Hey
Tom." Jared said. "Hey Jared. I see your starting where you left off?" my dad said grinning. I then heard Jared laugh. " Oh shutup Jared." I said laughign and pulling my hand out of his. "Well.. I will let you two.. you know.. but umm.. dinner is at 7.
Okay?" He said. I didn't answer I jsut heard my dad stroll off leaving me and Jared alone in the stables agian. All I heard was the quiet breeze outside and our laughing.

Jared and I left the stables hand in hand. Before I knew where we were going we ended up in front of the Gazebo. I felt Jared look at me but I couldn't
bring myself to look at him. I felt him pull my chin up to meet his eyes. I smiled lightly and stepped up onto the gazebo. I sat down on the bench and
grinned when I felt him sit next to me. I layed down and set my head in his lap. I felt his fingers go threw my hair and when I looked up he was closer than I
expected. I felt him come closer and closer and closer when I finally felt them. Those lips on mine agian after all this time. I kissed back and Threaded
my arms around his neck. I lifted my head a little bit so I could kiss him more easily and then I felt his
tongue gently touching my bottum lip i felt it trace
my whole entire bottum lip twice wanting to come in.
I gently opened my mouth and felt his tongue slip in. I felt myself moan a little bit and I felt him smile inside my mouth. I lifted my head more and I felt his
hands go around my waist and he lifted me onto his lap so I was straddling it. I felt his hands go inside my back pockets on my butt and I felt his thumbs
gently rub that spot. When we pulled away I couldnt
stop grinning. He took one hand out of my pocket
and gently traced my smile on my lips. He grinned as well. "Wow." was all I could say. "I have been wanting to do that for so long Austinn." He said
tracing my cheekbones now. "Im glad I came back." "Me too." I heard him whisper into my ear. I felt one of his hands gently grab my necklace around my neck and pulling it out of my shirt seeing the ring
hanging from the end. He took it off and slipped it on my finger. A Perfect fit. And I put my hands around his neck and pulled his lips to mine agian and all you
could hear was the raindrops dripping outside and
our lips moving in schryonizization.

When It turned 7. Jared had to go. So we said our goodbyes. Which took about twenty minutes for us to stop kissing goodbyes and he said he'd see me
tomorow. I made my way inside the house looking inside the kitchen seeing my dads new wife and my new stepsister Hayley and Stacy.Austinn sighed loud
enough for them to hear which brought them out to the living room. "Oh Hey Austinn!" stacysaid. "Hey. How are you?" Austinn said trying to be nice. "We're
good." said hayley with a smile. "Its good to see you Austinn." Stacy said gently going back into the kitchen leaving Hayley and Austinn alone. "Come
here. Lets go to my room. I havent seen you in soo long." Hayley said walking up the steps with Austinn following. We got up to her room and austinn decided
to sit on the bed. "So.. Hayley.. why are you doing this?" Austinn said looking at the floor. "Doing what?" "This.. nice.. nice act.." "Nice act?.. is it so
bad to maybe just maybe think Im actually a nice person?" "Hayley .. I didn't mean it like that and you know it. Its just when I was here last time.. it was like I didn't exsist. I just I dont know I guess I
wanted to know why its diffrent now." Austinn said finally having the courage to look Hayley in the eye. "Austinn. When you got here.. look, I barely knew
you.. and the most I knew was that my mom married some wierd dude I didn't even meet yet. I was at my
dad's .. You try having your mom call you up saying she got married while I was away. It sucks." Hayley said looking at me. "I know what you mean. I mean I
wasn't there either. Ive lived with my mom and my mom told me my dad got married. It was wierd. To
think he actually got married to someone else. You know? I mean all my life I pictured my mom and dad
together. I knew things were diffrent I just never pictured another woman." I said sighing. "Well looks
like we're on the same side. But honestly Im used to it now but , its good to see you and honestly? Your
dad has been talking about you a lot. He was soo excited that you came down." I heard Hayley said. "Yeah.. I just... I don't know I haven't seen him in forever and all of a sudden he wants to see me it was
just wierd. All of this is just wierd." I said looking at my feet. "True. Sorry to change the subject so fast but what is up with you and Jared? I heard your dad say he walked in on you two... you know.." "No no no.. we weren't you knowing.. we were just close." I
said smiling and decking my head down to hide the blush. "Blushing? Hm? what are we going to do with
you!" I heard Hayley say laughing. "Oh shutup!" "Sorry! Just saying... You really like him huh?" She said smiling. "Yeah I believe I do." I said smiling and
biting my lip. I looked out the window not hearing a
word Hayley was saying .. just picturing me and Jared holding hands.. This was going to be a intresting summer and honestly? It was just going to
get even more intresting. Maybe even the best
summer of my life.

I woke up to the feeling of something on my lips and something very close to me. "Mmm." I said kissing
Jared back. I felt the grin agianst my lips and I grinned back. I felt him pull away and look into my eyes. "Good morning." I heard him say. "It is a good morning." I said smiling and putting my hand behind
his head threading my fingers through his hair and pulling his head back down to my lips. Then I felt it that magic spark when we kissed. I wonder if he felt it too. I pulled away looking at his face. I smiled to
myself. "When you said I'd see you tomorrow you really meant it." I said laughing. I sat up pulling the covers back revealing my short and revealing nightgown. I felt his stare go down my whole body
and I lightly smacked his chest getting out of bed. "Oh stop it." I said laughing. Then I felt it. The
smack on my butt. I turned around with a horrified expression. "Did you just smack my butt?" "Maybe." I heard him say. "Oh really. So your not very sure hm?
If you ever do that agian..." I said threatning him and laughing at the same time. He grinned. "Or what?" He said grinning mischevieshily. "I-I.." but I
couldnt finish because I felt two hands go around my waist pulling me down onto there lap so that I was straddeling it. I felt the kisses start at my neck and
slowly move lower. I moved which made Jareds mouth come off and I kissed him on the lips. He was going to far and he knew it. I pulled away breahlessly. " Soo.. are you going to let me go get
dressed now?" I said smiling and trying to get up but the iron grip was around my waist and held me in place. "Nahh. I like you in this." I said and I felt the kisses on my neck and I felt him smiling into my
neck. I pulled away breaking his hold and jumping off of his lap running to the bathroom and locking it behind me. "You better hurry up!" I heard him yell playfully. "Seriously get dressed. I want to introduce
you to my friends." "Mk. Almost done... if I could just
find my makeup.." I said looking around the bathroom. "Jared did you take my makeup?" I said opening the door.Then I saw it. In Jareds hand.
"Hand it over. I thought we were in a hurry?" I said
my hands on my hips. "We are... but, Im not
handing it over. You dont need it. You look beautiful
right now. Its the old you." I heard jared say. It may be the old me but, I wasn't used to the old me. I was used to the new me. I sighed. "Just hand me my
lipgloss then and let me put on .. two strokes of mascara?" I said stepping in front of him, getting closer and closer. "Fine." He digged around in the
makeup bag passing the Lipgloss and Mascara instantly. "Whats it look like??" He said getting
impatient. "Umm babe you passed it about.. three times." I said laughing. "Well sorry Im not gay and I
dont know what mascara looks like." He said laughing and grabbing them both and handing them to me. "Thankyou." I walked over to the mirror stroking
