Historical Notice:

In the 18th century, it had become custom to castrate promising young boy singers to preserve their high voices, and increase their breath control and lung power.

Some of the most famous castratos included Carlo Maria Broschi [stage name: Farinelli] and Francesco Bernardi [stage name: Senesio]

This is all historical fact. But, history has been twisted a little. For example, Farinelli is shown in London in the year 1724. In reality, he was singing for the Holy Roman Emperor in Vienna at that time.
