Now What?
He stared at me, with a facial expression that clearly equaled "What". Finally he just said "Susan....how?"
"Um hello? New Years eve? Don't you remember?" I all but yelled at him.
"Oh shit, I was like, trying to forget that."
"Oh, well, tough luck" I said sarcastically.
"gee Susan, I just don't know what to say" We just stood there looking at each other for a while. Then he hugged me. "Look, Susan, I don't know how this is going to work out, But I promise to be here for you. I am, after all, your best friend.
I sighed."Thank you Luke for being so supportive."
He leaned down towards my face, and for a moment I almost thought that he was going to kiss me. I didn't know how to react. I mean, he was my best friend. Should I let him? Pull back? but I was spared this decision When he pinched my cheek, Said "See you around tortoise!" and left for his class.
As I walked towards my class, I thought about his reaction. Pure, typical, Never-lets-anything-get-him-down Luke. maybe If I thought about it his way, It wouldn't be so bad. I'd only have to take it one day at a time.

Yes i know, I'm awful. I leave it for a month and then I give you a short, filler-ish chapter. I have my excuses of course, Writers block, Christmas, etc. But the real reason is just plain laziness. I'm sorry!
