felinamania - noun - a mental illness that is a form of hoarding, or obsession (as seen in some cases); felinamaniacs mysteriously collect more cats than they can possibly handle; have become a recurring nightmare for neighbors, animal rights advocates and shelter operators; often operate unnoticed for years, their collections slowly growing, before catching the attention of animal control officers (results can be horrific - homes can be found like this: filled with about 200 cats, floorboards soaked and warped by urine and feral animals burrowed inside walls, some of the cats malnourished or sick); felinamaniacs cannot afford to keep up with the cats, or the number grows out of control.
