In which cereal is aquired

The pain in my neck woke me up. As my eyes slowly opened, I realized why the pain from my neck forced me out of sleep. I was sitting on my floor, my back up against my couch and the television was flashing images at my tired eyes. I groaned and shifted on my butt, trying to find a more comfortable position when I felt something move in my lap. I gasped before I looked down and found the sleeping head of Adam Burish resting on my upper thighs.

My movement woke him up and he looked at me sleepily, blinking the sleep out of his eyes. I smiled down at him and he smiled back, stretching his long body, arms above his head, still smiling- his eyes now closed.
"Adam- what time is it?" I shifted so I was now laying down beside him, taking the pressure off my neck and butt.
He groaned and checked his watch. We had apparently fallen asleep while watching the classic games on the NHL Network.
"Three fourty five."
I groaned, now, and saw that it was still pitch black outside. I laid my head on his chest and sighed out, "What are you gonna do?"
"I was actually hoping to just stay on your floor. This is quite nice." His arm pulled me closer and I snuggled into his side, starting to drift back off to sleep on the rough carpet of my front room. "I'll take that as a yes." I heard before I fell back into a blissful sleep, Adam's heart beats tickling my hand and lulling me into a deeper REM sleep.

The second time I woke up was to the smell of coffee. I opened my eyes to see that Adam wasn't there, just his cell phone and wallet on the table.
I stumbled into the kitchen, seeing Adam rifling through my cabinets, and the glorious coffee maker bubbling to life.
"Oh you know just what I need in the morning." I groaned, grabbing a mug and while I waited for the coffee to finish brewing, mixed the sugar and milk together.
He sat down at my kitchen table, looking resigned and said, "Where do you keep the cereal?"

I giggled and quickly swallowed my coffee so it didn't come out my nose and composed myself before replying, "Cereal?"
"YES, CEREAL! Why don't you have any CEREAL!?" He pushed his hair away from his face and I sat down across from him.
"Adam- I haven't had cereal since I was nineteen."

He looked stressed and said, "Hurry with the coffee and get dressed, we'll go out for breakfast."
I whined and asked, "Why? We don't have anything to do today."
Adam stood and looked at me seriously and replied, "I need cereal, Samantha."
My eyes widened and in no longer than twenty minutes- we sat in Adam's Ford and drove to the nearest diner.

Immediately he ordered apple jacks in a bowl of milk and I laughed at him while sipping my burnt diner coffee.
When he took his first bite, he rolled his eyes up as if in bliss.
Giggling at him still, he chewed and swallowed before replying, "You just don't understand." Shaking his head woefully.

"Puh! You just don't understand coffee."
"Let's not start this argument in public, darling." He laughed as he shoveled apple jacks in his face.
