A Shot at My Heart
Day Off
I don't think I've ever been happier to have a day off..like ever.
We won our round robin,and now we have the next 2 days off,and
then I have practice.I'm currently sitting in my apartment watching
TV and eating a sandwhich.In Particular I was watching the Grammy Nomination because I missed it last night when I was on a flight on my way home.So I had Joe come in and tape it.I got up to get more of my water
I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in." I yelled already knowing who it was.
"Hey..did I leave my sweatshirt here?" I heard my best friend ask.
"Yea it's sitting on the arm of the couch." I said as I closed the fridge
and walked out seeing him dressed up in a nice jacket with
some black pants.
"Going out?" I asked as I walked backed over to the couch where he was
currently sitting.
"Yea I got myself a hot date." I nodded my head and paued the TV.
"Really..what's her name." I asked trying to be interested but really..I could
give a rat's ass what his date's name was.
"Julie." He said.
"Why'd you want your sweatshirt?" I asked.
"O well after my date tonight I'm heading over to Zach's and then
tomorrow we're heading to the field to take team pictures so we
need our sweatshirts and our jackets." Zach being the Goalie on our
team who was actually dating Sara.He looked at my TV screen
and smiled.
"Did you get to the part whe-"
"Don't Ruin it." I said.He just laughed and he looked at me.
"What?" I watched him tilt his head back on the couch and sigh.
"What's wrong." I asked.He just sighed again and shook his head.
"Nothing..Nothing you need to worry about Pretty girl." Cue the Butterflies.
"Okay." I whispered.I looked at his sweatshirt.
"It's not fair that you guys got sweatshirts." I said in all honesty it
wasn't they are so much better than the jackets we got with our
team name in small print on the front with our last name and
our number on the back.
"Hey I let you wear mine when I'm not using it." He said as he stood up
and started walking towards the door.
"I know." I said.
"We're still hanging out tomorrow after my team pictures right?"
"Yup.I'll meet you at Nick's studio right,then we'll head out." I said and he nodded his
head.
"Okay..see ya later."
"Bye Handsome." I heard him chuckle as he open and closed the
door to my loft.
I need to get over him..and I need it to happen NOW.
The next day around 5:ooI was heading towards Hollywood Studios.
This place is huge but I've been here so many times with Joe to watch
Nick I know this place by heart.I got out of my red 2009 Chevy Colorado.
I walked into the builing,into the elevator to 6th floor and down to his
studio.I saw the recording light on so I waited outside.10 minutes later
the light was off,and I opened the door and walked in.I saw Nick
walk out of the booth and walk to the fridge.
"Hey Nick." He turned around and smiled.
"Hey,How's my favorite soccer star?" He asked as I went over
to give him a hug.
"Amazing." I said as we both sat down on the couch.
"Great..what's with the suprise visit?" He asked.
"I'm meeting Joe here after his team photo shoot and we're
heading out to grab some food." I said and he nodded.
"Awesome well he should be here any minute." He said.He got
up and walked over to the trash can to throw something
away.
"Hey Nick I finished that so-your here already?" Joe said running
through the door and no finishing what he was saying when
he saw me.
"Uh yea,it doesn't take that long to get here Joe." I said confused." What
did you finish?" I asked
"Nothing..nevermind." He said as he glanced at Nick.
"Okay then." I said.
"Let's go then." He said.We started walking towards the door
when I let out a " Bye Nick."
"Sorry I'm late..that picture took forever." He said as we made our
way to his car.He opened the door for me and went around
to his side and got in.
"It's okay it gave me some time to catch up a little with Nick
a little I miss hanging out with him." I said.He nodded his head.
I know how much the seperation of his brothers affected all
3 of them,with Kevin marrying Danielle (Who I love so much)
and him producing Nick's new album and others,and with Nick's
career skyrocketing and traveling the world performing he never
got to bond with his brothers and when he does it was only for
a couple days.
It was almost 8 at night when we got to our spot.
It's on the other side of town but it's our spot it's like a cafe,
bar and grill put together,once you walk in on the left
that's where the cafe was with a big piano is and when you
play it fills the whole place and on the right is the Bar&Grill.
We got at the spot and walked in and were greeted with
Jane who has worked there since we were little,she was
also like Joe's and mine grandmother,we walked over to
cafe table and sat down.
"Hey guys,hows my favorite soccer stars?" She asked putting a
hand on Joe's shoulder.
"I'm great Jane,but I'm so hungry..what about you Ava?" He asked
smirking.
"Joseph..I was talking to both of you." She said as she slapped his
shoulder.
"It's fine really Jane,that just proves our point on how immature he
really is." I said smiling at Joe.
"You go girl." She said.
"The ususal?" She asked and we both nodded.Joe usually got some
steak sub and I got chicken tenders with some ranch dressing
and he got chocolate milkshake and I got a Vanilla Frappachino,now
your not supposed to sit in the cafe and get stuff from the grill but
we're allowed to because...well we're just awesome like that.
"So how's Nick doing on his new album?" I asked as Jane brought
out our drinks.
"He's doing great he said he's got 2 more songs to record and then
he's done." Joe said.
"That's great that Nick followed his dreams to become a singer." I said
and I saw Joe nodd his head.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"What? Oh yea I am I'm just tired that's all." He said.
"Well we can go get my awesome truck and head to my
place if you want." He said but instantly shook his head no.
"No this is our thing,but maybe I could spend the night
at your loft and we could head to practice together tomorrow
morning." He said and I nodded my head.
"I can't believe we have practice in the morning." I said.Since
my coach and his coach were married...yea go figure our teams
were pretty close and both our fields are huge so we usually just
split the field in half and go on with our practices but sometimes they
practice on their own field.
"I know right..just because they wake up early doesn't mean we have to."
"Well 10:30 isn't that early." I said.He looked at me and rolled
his eyes.We were just talking when 3 girls came in wearing..what
looked to be prom dresses.Joe looked over at me uneasily.He
knew how I felt,I never got to go to prom or homecoming or
anything like that because I would usually be working up a
sweat on the soccer field.They walked by and sat at the
table across from us.
"You okay?" He asked I just nodded my head and Jane brought
us out our food.
I heard the sound of someone getting out of their seat.I looked
over and saw one of the girls in a pink dress walk over.
"Oh great."
