Chapter 22
Gerard woke up early the next morning with aching muscles. He briefly
wondered what he had done the night before when he realized that Naomi was curled in his arms.
‘Oh right,’ Gerard thought with a soft smile. ‘She’s what I did last night…several times.’
Gerard sighed, briefly wondering how long this could last. He decided he
wasn’t going to worry about it right now. The time would come when he’d
have an answer to that question, but now he just wanted to be happy.
Leaving a gentle kiss on Naomi's forehead, Gerard closed his eyes, enjoying the wonderful feeling of her in his arms as she snuggled closer to him.
‘Besides,’ Gerard thought, seconds before he drifted off to sleep. ‘Who says it can’t last?’
He knew there was about a million answers to that question, but he was asleep too fast to think of them.
