Unitl I Break

Chapter 2: Early Alarms

Chapter 2

(In the past for the next few chapters.. you’ll know when it catches back up to the first)
“EEENNN EEENNN EEENNN!” The alarm clock screamed, as Seville, buried face down in a sea of pillows flailed her hand feebly to the bedside, in a poor attempt to kill the alarm clock. But to no avail, she was up now.

“4: 00 a.m.,” she read the mechanical beast, “it could be worse” she thought to herself, having managed only two hours of sleep. She made her way to the bathroom, hopped in and out of the shower, towel drying her hair, and quickly threw on her favorite pair of jeans, so holey that it was amazing they were still together, and a t-shirt which read, “Drink apple juice because O.J will kill you.” accented by a white bronco on its orange façade. She wasn’t the skinniest person alive but she was no longer fat either, she fit comfortably in 6’s and she was proud of that, now one half the size she was in high school.

Taking a few minutes to look about her room, she couldn’t believe she was leaving, not to return for at least four months. This was the break she needed... She grabbed her jean jacket and rolled her luggage out into the entryway of her apartment. Never had she imagined that shed be doing what she was about to do. Yeah sure, she’d been a concert going fool! If a band came to town you better believe they were there even if they had gotten the crappiest seats in the place they always managed to weasel their way onto the floor. Sure she had done the whole band thing herself, she played guitar of course. That was how she met her best friend, Dustin. Most people would think he was arrogant but he just really sarcastic, so needless to say they hit it off.

She never stopped going to concerts, or playing in bands but college kinda slowed things down. She worked two jobs while going to school, took summer classes, all so that she could get done sooner, so she could finally start her life. She even managed to finish her undergrad degree in two years! And she had just finished her graduate degree. At the age of 24 she was ready to start life, but she hadn’t realized that it was life shed been missing out on....until now.

Now that was all over; she had graduated just weeks ago, and while other kids would kill to be home, Seville couldn’t wait to get away, she had nothing to stay for. When she told Dustin she needed to get away, he couldn’t wait to help and got her hooked up. Dustin had kept playing while she was in school, occasionally visiting her, but as his band, Walls of Jericho, became more and more popular it became harder and harder to keep in touch. But this year was different she was finally home and he was going on tour, and the band was in need of a guitar tech. He couldn’t think of anyone else he’d rather have working with them, plus she already knew the entire band and they all got along great. What other way for her to get away than to guitar tech on Warped Tour.

There was nothing she loved better than a good concert. She remembered her first time at warped tour 1998 she looked so out of place, her light blonde hair and her polo shirt, she looked like she had gotten on at the wrong exit, but once she stepped into the mosh pit, everyone was the same. You were there for the music, and there was no greater feeling.
