I Counted My Blessings, Now I'll Count This Curse

number thirteen

It was Sunday today, which meant I was going to see Bella again.
Bella, my best friend who’s boyfriend was a bloodsucker.
God, how bad I wished that he would have stayed in Italy to be killed by those Volturi people. Bella would have been even more heartbroken than she already was when she would’ve heard, and she would come to me to be comforted.

She would’ve been all mine

But of course, things never went my way.
The bloodsucker was saved and Bella was even happier then before, which was something I didn’t understand at all. He had hurt her so bad, she was literally falling apart. And I had been there to comfort her, I stood by her side, I was loyal, I didn’t hurt her. And still, she picked him.

I just didn’t understand why…

“Jake, can we go?” Seth’s voice interrupted my train of thoughts.
“Sure, sure” I muttered, getting up to follow him. Leah was waiting in the hallway of my tiny house, obviously a little frustrated. She hated going to the Cullen’s house, but I knew that the reason why she was still coming with us was because she wanted to keep tabs on us or something like that.

“Finally!” She exclaimed as we walked into the hallway. I rolled my eyes.
She could get on my nerves so easily…
Seth chuckled nervously. “Shall we get going then?”

I kind of felt bad for him, when Leah and I had an argument; he was always in the middle of it, being Leah’s brother and one of my best friends and all.

I nodded and took off. We would be going there in human form, seeing it wasn’t that far.

After about 10 minutes of jogging through the woods, the house came into view, looking grand as ever. The first thing I noticed was a new smell. It smelled like vampire, but it wasn’t quite as strong as the Cullen’s smelt. Actually, it smelled kind of good.

I shook the thought of as I walked into the house, knowing the bloodsucker would be able to hear it.

“Hi Jake!” Bella greeted me, walking over to pull me into the lightest of hugs. I had reminded her that she wouldn’t squash me if she applied some pressure countless of times, but she still seemed afraid to hurt me whenever she touched me. I held her to me for longer then she seemed to think was comfortable, because when she pulled away she had an embarrassed look on her face.

I just gave her a smug smile, letting her know that I still wasn’t giving up, even though she was now abloodsucker vampire.

She rolled her eyes and went to greet Seth and Leah as I walked into the living room. I noticed Rosalie and Alice weren’t there, and I didn’t see an unfamiliar face that could be the reason for the new smell. I nodded my greetings towards the rest of the family and sat down on a chair facing the television.

Seth and Leah walked in followed by Bella. Leah took seat on a couch and Seth found his regular spot on the rug in front of the television, leaning against the small table behind him as he faced the television.

I noticed Seth sniffing the air, and I was a little surprised when he asked what I had been thinking.

“Has there been another vampire in the house?” He asked, his brows furrowed in concentration as he tried to recognize the smell, but failing.

Bella nodded. “Her name is Sapphire, and she’s the newest addition to our family”
My mouth fell open. Another bloodsucker?
Seth seemed to take the new information a bit better than me, because he asked another question. Well, not one, but quite a few.

“How old is she? Where is she from? When did she arrive? What is she like?”
The questions flew out of his mouth in top speed, and Edward stopped him.

“She was 16 when she was changed and she’s 360 in vampire years, she’s originally from London, she arrived yesterday, and she’s nice. Maybe you should save the rest of the questions for her, Seth?”

Seth blushed slightly and nodded. Then he seemed to change his mind.

“Is she… special? Because she smells less like a vampire than you guys” He asked.
Carlisle was the one to answer this time. “We think she’s only half a vampire. She eats normal food and her eyes are purple. She also has a power, like Edward, Bella and Alice.”

“What kind of power?” I found myself asking, curious.
“She’s able to use the powers of those around her.” Edward answered.

My eyes widened. Wow, that was pretty cool

“Where is she now?” Seth asked.

“She’s shopping for furniture for her room with Alice and Rosalie. They should be here within a hour” Esme said.

During all the talking about this Sapphire, I noticed Leah’s sneer had gotten even worse than normal. She wasn’t too happy about this either.

There was a slight awkward silence for a few seconds, but it was broken by Esme.
“Is anyone of you hungry?”
Seth and Leah shook their heads, but I found the idea of food hard to resist, so I nodded. Esme shot me a smile and made her way to the kitchen. I followed her in, knowing she would ask me what I wanted. I took seat at the table.

“Are tacos okay Jacob?” Esme asked as she searched through the large fridge.
“Sure, tacos are fine” I answered, smiling politely.

As Esme started making the tacos, I pulled a newspaper that lay on the table towards me and started flipping through it. While I was reading an article about a dog that could to back flips, I heard a car stop in front of the house.

Sure, I was curious about this Sapphire, but I wasn’t going to show it. So I simply continued reading the article and waited until she got to me.

I heard people talking, and not so long after I noticed two people walking into the kitchen. I recognized Seth’s smell, and then there was the smell of this Sapphire.

“Jake, Sapphire is here” Seth said, causing me to look up.

I saw her

My heart started to race, my palms got sweaty, my mind turned blank.

She was freaking gorgeous

Her auburn brown hair fell unto her shoulders, her purple eyes were surrounded by incredibly long eyelashes, her lips were a little plump and turned into a surprised frown. Her figure was perfect, her hands small and delicate.

The prettiest models couldn’t compare to this.

Our eyes connected, and my world became complete. Everything vanished, it was just me and her.

Seth started waving his hands, but that didn’t matter.

She was all that mattered.

Edward and Jasper walked into the room, looking confused.
“Sapphire?” Edward questioned.
Both of us snapped out of our trance. Her eyes became weary. “Uhm… I’m gonna go get some air”

And she darted out of the room.

My world seemed to crumble the second her presence left me, but I didn’t get up to follow her. I sat frozen on my chair. Edward was gone, I supposed he went after her.

“What the hell just happened Jake?” Seth questioned.
“I dunno” I stuttered out.

He sighted and took a seat opposite of me.
I looked down at the table, but I felt his eyes watch me.
“Do you think you imprinted on her?” Seth asked.

My head immediately shot up. “How could that be? She’s a vampire, our mortal enemy Seth!”
Seth shook his head. “She’s only half a vampire Jake”

I groaned. “But I like Bella!” It didn’t come out as convincing as it should’ve come out.

Seth gave me the ‘yeah, right’ look, and I felt a little defeated.

Did I actually imprint on avampirehalf vampire?

I reminded myself to breath, and Seth and I sat there in silence.
Bella walked into the kitchen after a while.

“Jacob, Edward and Sapphire are coming back.”

Seth got up, and gave me a hard look. I got up slowly and made my way over into the living room, standing in the corner facing the door.

Edward came in first, and a couple of seconds later Sapphire appeared. Her beauty once again startled me.

Everyone was looking at her, and she looked awkward as hell.

“Uhm.. hi there?” She said.
Seth chuckled lightly, and she looked the tiniest bit more comfortable.

Everyone kept staring at her though, which made her roll her pretty, purple eyes.
“People, if you’re just going to stare, you might want to take a picture, it will last longer” She said, obviously irritated.

I couldn’t help but laugh. The look on her face, the classical comeback, it was just brilliant.

When I focused on the room again, I noticed that I was now being stared at.
I shrugged it off. “It was a classic comeback, you can’t deny that”

I looked over at Sapphire, and our eyes connected again. How my heart could handle this was a mystery to me.

Gathering all my confidence, I walked over to her and pulled her into a hug.

For the first time in my life, I felt complete

Jacob's point of view!
I will update again tomorrow with a real new chapter.
thanks all people who commented!

This story was reported because apparently I marked it original fiction, but whatever. The person who reported the story put a comment with the report, which said something about me using characters created by Stephenie Meyer. This person spelled Meyer like Meyher. I couldn't help but laugh haha.

comments are love!
