Fatality: The Final Race

Chapter 19: Something Hidden and Something Revealed

I hugged Jamie tight refusing to let her go. We watched the sunset on the beach, it was perfect. But all perfect things had to end. The sound of roaring engines entered my head, the smell of burning metal filled my senses. Jamie started to fade from my sight and my grip as I slowly opened my eyes.

"Autumn. You okay baby?" Boss's voice swarmed me.

"What..."

"You took a bad fall. Are you okay? You've been sleeping for three days."

"Where's Jamie?" I asked him and he looked truly confused.

"Who's Jamie?"

"My girlfriend."

"Autumn... you're the only girl here."

"So it was all a dream." I asked and he kissed my head.

"Must have been some good dream." He walked out of the room.

"It wasn't," I whispered, "It was the worst nightmare ever." I drifted off to a peaceful sleep and this time, no dreams entered my head.

I had written this when I finished the story but I couldn't add it because I was terrified of Jamie's reaction. Now however, I don't really care.

Jamie was a figment of my imagination. The girl I thought she was never existed.
