I was jolted awake by the shrill ringing of my phone. I looked over at my night stand and read the clock. 3:28 AM. I picked up my cell phone and looked at the screen, seeing it was Ella calling me. I did my best to mask my confusion as I answered the phone. She couldn’t have been calling to wish me Merry Christmas.

“Sam? I need yeh teh come pick me up.”
