When I wake up I'm on my living room couch. My mother looking over me worriedly.
"Rose? Oh Rosie I was worried about choo."
Choo? Yea definitely tipsy. As always stupid mother.
"What happened? How did I end up here on the couch? Dry?"
"A very nice young man saw you fall in the woods and hit your head."
"Oh."
Young man...hmmm...
Noticing my dry clothes I ask, "Did you change me?"
"Well yes. With some help"
"Help!?"
"The boy, Damen? He went to get you some tea."
"Who?"
Just as he walks in the room. "Well I'm happy to see sleeping beauty up and awake. Are you alright?"
"Um yes. Thanks."
He has no aura!! And moms is all pink. Oh boy.... But all those thoughts go away. Like they've been pushed out of my mind. All uneasiness of his entrance into the room, gone.
"Do you know how I fell?"
"You must have been walking to fast in the rain and mud and slipped."
"Oh." "But I saw you fall and hit your head and carried you here."
"Oh. Thank you."
"No need to thank me."
"She could have died. Of course we have to thank choo..."
"Mom let's get you to bed okay."
"Well ok-e-doke"
"Where's Benjamin and Tulip?"
"Homework."
But because she's slightly tipsy it comes out humwruk.
I put my mom to bed then go to the kitchen to start dinner.
"Let me do that."
"It's okay really. I'm fine."
"Go take a shower, do your homework, whatever. I'll cook for you, your brother and sister."
"I..."
"Go."
Only he says it as more of a command than a request so I listen.
After dinner I put the kids to bed.
"Thanks. You didn't have to do all this. I do it every day."
"Yes but I'm guessing you usually don't fall everyday either, and since it was my fault."
"It was..."
"You don't remember little one."
Only he doesn't say little one out loud he says it in his head and then I remember. He shoved me down. He scares me only I don't really know why.
"Little one..."
"Yes you can read my mind. I'm almost like you. Except I'm a made vampire. Your a chosen."
I laugh. How stupid is he?
"Vampire. I don't know what kind of stories your reading bub but I am an Immortal. A born Immortal. My father was a vampire, little to my mothers knowledge. And when she found out, let's just say pops hasn't been around since and she's like that every day i come home."
"I know your father."
"Please don't tell me your like my long lost brother or something."
He's too gorgeous...
"No. But your father did send me."
"Why?"
"To explain your gift."
"Gift? As if. What else?"
He smiles.
"To awaken you princess and yes I can hear you too."
