Did We All Fall Down?

One Final Song

*Frank's POV*

I looked into Gee's eyes, "Last words?"

Gerard stood still, biting his lip and thinking, "Famous last words." The five of us mulled it over in our heads for a moment. Famous Last Words.

Mikey smiled, "Yeah, it's perfect. That's the title." Bob and Ray nodded. I leaned closer to Gee, supported by one crutch, and pecked him on the cheek.

"We've finished it, then. That's the last song. We have our third record." I said excitedly, kissing Gerard quickly on the cheek again. He smiled at me and nodded.

"Let's go through it once. I'll call Cavallo later, we'll get into the studio and finally lay the whole thing out." Gerard said. We all got ready, then began to play what would soon be the last track on The Black Parade.

"Now I know
That I can't make you stay
But where's your heart?
But where's your heart?
But where's your...

And I know
There's nothing I can say
To change that part
To change that part
To change...

So many
Bright lights, they cast a shadow
But can I speak?
Well is it hard understanding
I'm incomplete
A life that's so demanding
I get so weak
A love that's so demanding
I can't speak

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

Can you see
My eyes are shining bright
'Cause I'm out here
On the other side
Of a jet black hotel mirror
And I'm so weak
Is it hard understanding
I'm incomplete
A love that's so demanding
I get weak

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

These bright lights have always blinded me
These bright lights have always blinded me
I say

I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead"

"(How can I see, I see you lying)" Ray and I began to sing the backup as we all continued playing.

Gee kept singing through his part. " 'Cause I see you lying next to me"

"(How can I see, I see you lying)"
"With words I thought I'd never speak"
"(How can I see, I see you lying)"
"Awake and unafraid"
"(How can I see, I see you lying)"
"Asleep or dead"

" 'Cause I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead

'Cause I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone"

"(Or dead)" Ray and I began background vocals again.

"Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home"
"(Or dead)"
"I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone"
"(Or dead)"
"Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home"
"(Or dead)"
"I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone"
"(Or dead)"
"Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home!"

The song ended and I felt (and I knew all the guys did too) a great sense of triumph and satisfaction. I looked around Gee's and Mikey's living room, at all our grinning faces. Mikey, Ray, and I packed away our instruments. Bob started to move his drums off to the side and Ray and Mikey quickly helped him. Gerard and I stood and watched, seeing as both of our injuries still hadn't completely healed. I knew he felt as useless as I did.

"Hey, how was singing with the fucked-up jaw and ribs?" I asked him quietly.

"It was, well... the word 'ow' comes to mind. No, it wasn't too bad. But I'm gonna have to get a painkiller in a minute." Gee confided in me. When the guys had moved away from the doorway, he headed into the kitchen.

"Wanna order in -- Chinese? And a horror movie?" Bob asked us. Mikey, Ray, and I smiled.

"Yes!" Gee called. I smiled more widely and made my way into the kitchen. I came up behind Gerard as he swallowed a pill and took a gulp of water. I placed the arm that wasn't holding onto a crutch around his waist. He turned and smiled at me. Our lips met in a short kiss, we could hear the guys moving towards the kitchen. I stepped away and grabbed a take-out menu from a drawer.

As Bob, Ray, and Mikey entered the kitchen I spoke, "So what's it gonna be?"
♠ ♠ ♠
I actually did a spot of homework on this one: Rob Cavallo was the producer for The Black Parade album (Cavallo also produced American Idiot by Green Day).
*And I know they didn't actually have the title for FLW until after the video shoot for it, but I'm bending things around like I have been doing for the past 47 chapters and like I will continue to do. The joy that is fanfiction. Mwahaha!
