Sequel: Carpe Diem

Sink Into Me

Thirty Five.

This was not good, I couldn’t escape. I couldn’t just walk out obviously because I wasn’t meant to hear the lyrics, and Lidia couldn’t exactly sneak me out and Adam didn’t even know I was in the room.
This was not good, I needed a plan, and fast.
Lidia just stood there, I think she’d figured out that I had no means of escape and that I couldn’t get out without getting myself noticed.

“Hey Adam..are..are you okay?” Lidia questioned.

I took that opportunity to once again slightly peer over the top of the sofa.

“I’m fine, why wouldn’t I be?”

“You just seem a little, I don’t know, pained?” Lidia said.

Adam just sighed in response.

Oh dear.

“I just… I don’t know” He sighed.

“You must know, only you can possibly know” Lidia chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.

“I’m just confused I guess”

“Do you want to elaborate?” Lidia asked as she made her way over to him and sat down opposite.

“My emotions are all over the place at the moment”

“Whoa Adam, what’s brought this on?” She asked as she placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

This was going somewhere, and the worst part of it was I wasn’t even meant to hear it.

“You know, hate is a real strong word” Adam said.

“Of course, everybody knows that”

“I don’t think everyone does”

What was he getting at?

“By everyone you mean Taylor?”

Me?

“Yes..no..maybe..no..maybe”

What a hypocrite! He spreads the hate, too!

“You want to talk it out?” Lidia asked.

“Erm,”

“Adam, you can talk to me about it you know?”

Way to give the “whatever you say stays between us” saying Lid, because it wasn’t seeing as I was still sofa bound.

“I can?” He questioned, clearly confused.

“You’re my boyfriends best friend, plus we’re friends, surely that’s enough to know you can talk to me?” She chuckled.

“I guess so” He replied.

“So..do you want to talk about it?”

“Actually, I’ll pass right now, thanks though, Lidia” Adam said as he stood up.

“Anytime” She smiled.

Adam smiled back and made his way to the door, opening it and closing it as he left.

“What was that about?!” I exclaimed.

“No idea” She sighed.

“He’s a hypocrite!”

“Go talk to him” She stated.

“I-what? Why?” I questioned.

“You can ask him about bowling”

“I’m sure I’m the last person he wants to see right now” I chuckled as I rubbed the back of my neck.

“But he doesn’t know you heard all that” She said smugly.

True.

“I know but still” I said, still attempting to get out of it.

“Taylor” Lidia warned.

ARGH.

“Fine, fine” I mumbled.

“Ask him about bowling and if he’s alright”

“What?! You want me to make a conversation too?!”

“Yes, that’s exactly what I want”

“THAT WASN’T PART OF THE DEAL!” I screeched.

“I know, but obviously even you saw he wasn’t okay”

“But he wouldn’t confide in me, anyway” I laughed.

“Worth a try though, isn’t it?”

I’ve heard that before.

“I guess” I sighed in defeat.

“Good, now get going, I’ll stay up here so when you’re done come back up”

“Fine, okay” I sighed.

I spun on my heel and began to walk towards the door.

“Oh and Taylor?”

I quickly spun back around to face Lidia.

“Yeah?”

“Good Luck” She smirked.

“Yeah, yeah” I huffed.

I was going to need it.
