Sequel: Carpe Diem

Sink Into Me

Fifty Three.

When we arrived in the lobby I breathed a sigh of relief as no-one was there just yet. I felt nervous, really nervous, I mean like I said, I’d wear makeup every day, just never this amount, but at the end of the day, I liked the dress, and I liked the way I looked, so that’s what I kept telling myself.

“Will you chill?! You look amazing” Hayden said as she squeezed my hand in reassurance.

I didn’t know what I’d do without this girl.

“Thanks, but it’s just hard to relax” I whined as I started to fidget.

“Stop it!” Hayden exclaimed as she grabbed both of my wrists.

Before we could argue anymore though, the “ding” of the elevator shut us up immediately. As Matt, Lidia, Fred, Eddie, Mark and Adam walked out I felt like my heart was in my throat, as they made their way over to us I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks but I tried my best to hide it, not that I succeeded of course.

“Wow, just wow” Matt said as he stared at me.

“Shut up” I mumbled, looking down.

“Taylor, you look amazing” Matt chuckled as he lifted my chin up.

“I second that!” Lidia joined in.

“I third that!” Fred said.

“I fourth that!” Mark and Eddie chimed in.

I couldn’t help but laugh at them.

“Thanks guys” I chuckled softly.

“Yeah yeah are we going now or not?” Adam questioned as he walked towards the door.

I rolled my eyes.

“Who put the stick up his ass?” Lidia laughed.

“He’s such a dick” I muttered.

“Enough about Adam, I want to get drunk!” Matt cheered.

“LETS GO LETS GO LETS GO!” Lidia screeched grabbing my arm forcefully and pulling me towards the hotel doors.

We all piled into a taxi, well, we piled in as Adam pushed us all in, and obviously I sat as far away from Adam as possible, but despite him just confusing the hell out of me I was genuinely happy, and I couldn’t wait to see what the night held.
I had no idea what club we’d just stepped into, but then again I just think Matt chose a random club considering he was that desperate to get drunk he didn’t care where we were, but it was all part of the fun.

“Come on, we can’t get drunk if we don’t get drinks, now lets go!” Hayden exclaimed as she pulled me up to the bar. I think everyone had a habit of dragging me along with them, especially Hayden and Lidia.

“What’s it gonna be, ladies?” The bartender asked us.

“I’ll have a Candy Apple Martini, what do you want, Taylor?” Hayden questioned.

“I’ll have a Blue Hawaiian Screw” I grinned.

Blue Hawaiian Screws are the best cocktails in existence, consisting of Vodka, Blue Curacao liqueur and Pineapple Juice just incase you didn’t know and thought I’d ordered something from outta space, it was Matt and I’s tradition that whenever he came to visit we’d make our own version of it, it was a Rubano tradition that we both loved.

“Coming right up” The bartender smiled as he made our drinks.

“A Blue Hawaiian what?” Hayden chuckled.

“Screw” I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Until now I’ve never heard of that in my life”

“Seriously? Matt and I used to make our own version of it when he’d come and visit, you need to try it”

“Oh, I’ll get round to it tonight” she winked.

“Here you go ladies” The bartender said as he placed the drinks in front of us.

“Thank you!” we both said in unison as we paid.

We picked up our drinks and made our way through the crowds of people dancing in order to find where everyone else went, not that it was that hard to find them, considering Fred and Eddie were up dancing around.

“What the hell are you doing?” I laughed in amusement as I watched them do the Macarena.

“Having a good time, Taylor! Having a good time” Fred grinned.

Hayden and I sat down next to Matt and Lidia, whilst Adam sat furthest away not paying attention to any of us which in all honesty wasn’t surprising, he was a douche.

“Is that a Blue Hawaiian Screw?!” Matt exclaimed, pointing at my drink.

“Of course!” I grinned.

“A Blue Hawaiian what?!” Lidia questioned.

“I asked exactly the same thing” Hayden laughed.

“I need to go and get one of those!” Matt said as he hopped up and made his way to the bar, pulling Eddie and Mark along with him.

“It’s like heaven in a cocktail” I shrugged.

“Riiight, well, I think I’m going to go and get myself one, considering Matt is so lovely he’ll no doubt forget to get me a drink” She winked as she got up and walked towards to bar.

I turned to face Hayden and laughed at her empty glass.

“You’ve drank your Martini already?! We’ve not even been sat down for five minutes!” I chuckled as I drank some of my cocktail.

She just smiled innocently.

“I’m going to go and get another one!” She announced as she got up.

Oh no. She can’t.

“I’ll be back in a minute!”

She did. She left me here with Adam.

It was so awkward, I tried to ignore the fact that he was there and I’m pretty sure he was doing the exact same thing.

I had the urge to kick him under to table, I had nothing to lose so..

“Ow! What the fuck?!” he exclaimed.

“Stop being such an ass!” I spat “You’re not even socialising with anyone! I don’t care if you don’t socialise with me but the others have done nothing wrong and you know it”

“Whatever, I’m pretending you don’t exist, you should do the same but vice versa” He said as he rolled his eyes.

Ouch.

“You’re such an asshole” I muttered.

“If you want me to be sociable, fine, I will, excuse me” He said harshly as he got up and walked away, straight to a blonde girl sat alone at the bar. Typical.

I just scoffed and glared at the back of his head, hoping he would feel it. He hadn’t changed one bit.

Hayden walked back over and sat down next to me, pushing another Blue Hawaiian Screw in front of me.

“Thanks” I muttered.

“What’ve I missed? Where’s Adam?” She questioned.

I pointed to him.

“Dick” She muttered.

“Yeah you’re telling me” I laughed “Ah well, he’s not going to ruin this night, this night is ours!” I exclaimed.

“You betcha!” She winked.

Before we knew it, pretty much everyone of us was drunk out of our minds, it was the definition of a wild night, I remember Hayden and I dancing on the dance floor until we literally couldn’t stand anymore and Lidia and Matt doing some sort of ballroom dance which had Hayden and I holding onto each other for support to stand up straight but also support from laughing so hard, and as for Fred and Eddie, I think they were trying to break the “how many times can you do the Macarena” record, not that I knew if there really was one. As for Adam, he’d been talking to that girl all night, well I say talking, I clearly meant him being all over her and vice versa, not that it bothered me, I was there to have a good time, and that’s what I had. The time went so quick though, we all stumbled into the taxi at about 4am, Matt stumbled up to Adam and pulled him away from whoever that girl was so that he wouldn’t be left there, he should’ve just left him there though, that would’ve made the night for me. When we’d eventually stumbled up to the hotel room I remember Hayden and I not bothering to get changed or anything just crashed onto one of the beds and fell asleep within minutes. Now that my friends, is what you call a night to remember and a good last night in LA.
