Chapter Seven
I was sitting in a tree. “Is this like Peter Pan’s tree house?”
She snorted, “Uh, no. He took the idea from me.”
“Oh?” I paused, how long has she been here? “Well he’s moved on.”
“What?”
“He’s got some great big Pantheon or something.”
“Oh. Yeah. Well he’s moved on from a lot of things.”
I looked at her. Was she one of Peter’s Girls? From a long time ago? “You mean, Peter’s Girls?”
“Oh, is that what they’re calling themselves now?”
“Apparently.”
“I suppose you’re his new one?”
“I really don’t want to be grouped with them. Peter’s Girls aren’t really successful.”
“No they aren’t successful at winning his heart, are they? So if your not one of his Girls then who are you?”
“A mistake?”
“Funny.” She smirked, “Peter never makes mistakes.”
“Oh. I think he does.”
“What makes you so sure of that?”
“He thought I was someone else.”
“Oh, that? That was carefully planned. He’s a great actor that one.”
“You know, I don’t really know who you are?”
“Your right. You don’t.”
I grinned at her, “You seem to know a lot about Peter Pan”
“I would, wouldn’t I?”
“And what’s that supposed to mean? You can’t be his mum, he doesn’t have one.”
“Oh he does, I’m just not her. If I was, he’d remember her.”
“So you’re his, what sister? Twin?”
“Something like that.”
…
“What? Peter Pan has a sister? Hunter Pan? No. That doesn’t sound right.” I was confused.
“It’s Jane.”
“I thought it was Hunter?”
“Yeah, well, nobody calls me Jane anymore.”
“Oh, good. You didn’t lie about that.”
“I’m not the liar in this family.”
“Oh and he is?”
“Did you know he had a sister?”
“No. But, I expect he didn’t tell Wendy. And she didn’t tell Mr. Barrie.”
“Oh no, she knew about me all right. But you’re right she didn’t tell Mr. Barrie. Didn’t want tell anybody that Peter Pan’s own sister was evil.”
“You’re evil?”
“Of course not. But they think I am.”
“Why? What did you do?”
“I fell in love.”
“Is love bad?”
“Oh no, not the idea of it. Of course not. But if it’s the wrong person. Then yes, it is wrong.”
“Who was it?”
“Who does Peter Pan hate? Or who did Peter Pan hate?”
“Captain Hook?”

“You’re evil?”
“Of course not. But they think I am.”
“Why? What did you do?”
“I fell in love.”

“Who was it?”
“Who does Peter Pan hate? Or who did Peter Pan hate?”
