First Act as an Adult

Introduction

I am not a fan of birthdays. Never really was; not for another person’s birthday nor for my own. Yes I made personalized birthday cards with bizarre collages on the cover for my friends, just to humour them, and I said happy birthday to my parents and family, I had birthday parties with all my friends and close acquaintances- which dwindled down about four people. Out of all of this I never told people my birthday, no one at school knew: until this year.

I was curious if people would actually remember my birthday, they remembered everyone else’s so why not mine? Well truth be told only a few remembered, which is about two, and one of them I’ve known eleven years so I hope she would remember. I wasn’t bummed because, as I said, I am not a fan of birthdays; I accepted the situation as it was and looked to the future.

This year my birthday landed on a Saturday and fantastically enough 2009 is the year Disneyland was allowing free admission on your birthday. So as my first act as an adult: I went to Disneyland.

This is actually what I did on my birthday last year. I was bored so I decided to write it down.

Enjoy.
