The Wrong You Like

Problems.

"This doesn't make sense," I heard a stern voice and I moaned shifting in a warm bed. I felt John still next me, we were still tangled up in each other. He was out, and I mean I could've punched him in the face, he would've smacked his lips, rolled over and kept dreaming. I tried to get up, but suddenly his muscles tightened and kept me next to him. I laughed a little, trying to eavesdrop and escape the grip of death at the same time.

"Just be happy for them," I heard a voice I didn't recognize and I was determined to get a gage if they were in this room or the next. I heard a loud sigh and footsteps. Using my detective skills I guessed they had left the room so I opened my eyes and saw Halvo staring intently at us.

I let out a ear-breaking scream, before realizing it was Halvo and not some weird creepy guy and John shot up holding his hand sleepily. I clutched my chest feeling my hair tumble over my back. Halvo's wide eyes got even wider before smiling with his stupid toothy grin and busting out laughing. Justin came running back into the room and John still had no idea what was going on.

"What the fuck? Do you watch everyone while they sleep or just people you have a boner for?" I asked laughing once my heart had calmed down a little. Eric smiled and jumped on John and me a little bit and gleefully squealed.

"I do have a major boner for you JohnO!" He clutched tightly to John and John swatted him away while Justin laughed realizing the situation was a creepy, creepy misunderstanding. Eric pouted from the floor where he had fallen, "WHY WON'T YOU LET ME LOVE YOU?!" I couldn't help but giggle, pushing John who was yawning, grumpy from being waken up.

"He's mine stud, get your own," I said to Halvo who was picking himself up off the ground, still seeming dumbly happy. John groaned putting a pillow over his head and trying to go back to sleep. I sighed getting up from the bed and stretching a little. "Well, good morning to you too," I mumbled watching John let out a snore. I laughed and followed Halvo to the kitchen.

"Hey Evan," I saw Max sitting between Nick and Andrew while Justin was cooking something in the kitchen. I laughed nervously at my braless state and the fact I just got up, ergo I looked like shit.

"Hey guys," I said hesitantly crossing my chest, "It's like a party in here,"I laughed uncomfortably before I realized that no one really cared. I sat on the counter next to Halvo, where was the only place Justin wasn't using to make us pancakes. Good thing Pat wasn't here or we'd have a spaz attack on our hands.

"Evie," Nick smiled at me politely, I laughed waving awkwardly and he pointed to Andrew, "this is our drummer Andrew Cook, Andrew this is Evan Brock, Kennedy's sister and John's lover? Ex-lover? No one really ever knows for sure," Nick said smugly and I smiled politely.

"NIce to meet you," I smiled and then looked Nick dead in the eye, "I'm his girlfriend." Justin let out a big sigh and I felt under attack suddenly, which was weird because Max was looking at me with big, sympathetic eyes and Halvo, was glazed over.

"Nice to meet you too," Andrew said shyly with a fedora placed on his head, he took a sip of his coffee, I realized that everyone was fully dressed except for me, but I was really lazy and there was food being made.

"So am I missing something here?" I asked everyone looked up with a fake concern and everyone pretending not to know what I was talking about. I licked my lips before clarifying, "You know, the whole 'just be happy for them', but then the sighs and death glares?" I asked bluntly.

"No-" Halvo began before Justin sighed and interrupted,

"We just have a problem with any girl who can justify leaving a guy and not feeling the slightest bit of remorse coming back into his life. Especially, when the guy was a fucking mess while the girl was off having a blast in California modeling and fucking the west coast," Justin said, his eyes never leaving mine making it hurt that much more. I nodded, biting my lip and hopped off the counter tears lining my eyes.

"Clearly, I'm not welcome here," I said rushing into John's room and changing into my clothes quickly, I saw John sleeping with the pillow still on his face and I wrote him a quick note and left it on the side table and rushed back out. Halvo was protesting while everyone remained silent, "I just think you guys should get your facts straight before say shit like that to someone, because you don't know the half of it. You really don't" I said before storming out of the apartment and tears finally breaking their way out of my tear ducts.

I started walking, I'm not sure where I was going, but two things had become very apparent. The first, I had left my shoes in John's room or somewhere, the second, I was in Tempe and far away from my house, without a car or shoes. I dug for my cell phone and finally dialed Sunday who I figured was with Kennedy.

"Fuck," I muttered to myself when she didn't pick up. I kept walking out of the neighborhood until I saw something I recognized. The tears were streaming with an unusual force and I saw a middle school with kids playing soccer on the field, even though it was really hot. I wiped my tears quickly as if they didn't count if no one saw them, but eventually my efforts were futile and I let them fall freely.

"Evan?" I heard someone call out. I looked behind me to see a red head pulled over in a bright yellow car with another guy driving. I wiped my tears and walked over to the car quickly and briskly.

"Jared what are y'all doing here?" I asked sniffling a little. I asked leaning into the window to see it was just them. I guessed Gabi was out with Sunday wherever on Earth she was.

"Uh, says the lady walking around with no shoes in the Arizona suburbs," Jared smirked and I slapped him lightly. "Justin's making breakfast for everyone, we're all back from tour!" My face dropped when I heard Justin's name.

"What happened," Garrett asked noting my red-eyed and wet faced appearance. I laughed and crossed my arms still bent over and rubbed my eyes.

"I have no idea, but it was like intervention except it was more like for John to quit me, if that simile makes sense?" I asked tilting my head and Jared nodded deep in thought. "I don't know and John was sleeping making it that much more awkward and I honestly didn't see this coming," I started rambling before Jared got out of the car and pushed the front seat forward.

"Get in," He said and I did. He pushed the seat back and got in looking at me from the rear view mirror. I was about to protest when I saw Garrett parking in front of John's house.

"Dude, I could've walked," I stated and I sighed as Garrett gave me a big toothy grin. I got out of the car, Jared still looking serious and Garrett doing his pancake dance, which was actually very fun to do. "What are we doing? Guys?"

"Getting pancakes stupid," Garrett smiled and Jared raced ahead walking in the door first without knocking or anything.

"But I just ranted, I need at least an hour or two before I can enter a rant zone, its law!" I said loudly, as Garrett started pulling me up the drive way. I still resisted of course, but my feet hurt. "Garrett it's law!"

"No law is man hungry, man get food," He said making his face incredibly serious and confusing me a lot. Somehow I was back in the house and the awkwardness had begun. I watched as Jared defended my honor while my boyfriend slept.

"Dude! She left because John broke up with her! They got in a fight, couples do that! Shit she was a mess too! We talked to her best friend and why do you think she's just some cold manipulative bitch that wants to hurt him because she can?! Justin you know her! She's Evan!" Jared had escalated to a shout and suddenly it felt like we should be on Maury.

"I don't know what John is doing because he swore he'd never have another girlfriend and she waltzes claiming their boyfriend and girlfriend! She probably wasn't as broken as you think! Women lie all the time Jared!" Justin shouted back, finally John strolled in sleepily and his eyes barely open.

"What the fuck is going on in here? I mean honestly!" John called out, I looked at him desperate for the situation to be controlled. This is more drama than anyone should ever have, I mean probably more than high school girl drama. Everyone got quite and John looked around a little more awake, searching for answers. "Why is my girlfriend crying?"

"It's a long story," I smiled laughing a little, Jared and Justin had cooled off a little separating from being right in each other's faces to a good three steps away from each other.

"Justin's being a dick, saying shit like she's just using you to break you," Jared muttered rolling his eyes, John laughed thinking he was joking until he realized no one else was laughing.

"Well, fuck dude, I thought pancake day was always happy," John said looking off into nothing, making us all start laughing, first at bursts that had gotten released despite trying to be held in. We all laughed for a little bit, Justin's laugh a little more bitter, Halvo's laugh a little mouth-breathier but it didn't break until the smell of pancakes burning filled the house.

"Shit!" Justin cursed and I felt skinny arms wrap around me and I saw John's big green eyes looking down at me. He kissed my forehead lovingly and I couldn't help but smile. He made me happy, even when I had just spent a good half hour crying. Looking in his eyes made everything feel like it would be alright. He smiled, his crooked smile, agreeing as if he could understand everything.
