The Exchange Student

School Shopping

Since it was required that I'd go to school, Denise took me (plus Joe and Nick) school shopping.

Not that I minded:

I liked going school shopping.

"Hey, look what I found!"

We were in the note-book aside, and I looked at Joe.

He was holding up a Camp Rock note-book, and I smiled.

"Thank you." I said, taking it out of his hands, and placing it into the cart.

"What if I wanted it?" Joe asked, and I looked at him.

"Too bad. I saw it first." I replied, smiling.

"Hey! There you are!"

Me and Joe turned around to see two girls walking towards us.

"Alysa! Christina! What a surprise!" Joe explained, and one of the girls looked at him.

"It's a surprise that we're buying school supplies?"

I grinned.

One of the girls looked at me.

She has brown hair that went down the center of her back, and light brown eyes.

"You're Ishani, right? I'm Alysa Evans, Joe's best friend."

She then points to the girl next to her, who has black hair, and green eyes, while having freckles across her nose.

"This is Christina, Nick's girlfriend."

I nodded.

"Glad to meet you guys."

"Where's Kevin?" Alysa asked, and Joe looked at her.

"He decided to not tag along, so he's hanging out with Danielle."

I learned that Danielle was Kevin's girlfriend, and they have been childhood friends before dating.

"Cool."

As we continued to school shop, Christina and Alysa asked me about England and how I liked America so far.

"I could never go to another country. I'd miss everyone." Christina explained, and Joe smirked.

"Yeah, she'd miss Nick the most."

Christina glared at him, but I saw a tint of red on her cheeks.

"Is it true that England is dreary?" Alysa asked, and I smiled.

"Well, it's always rainy, but I wouldn't say it's dreary even though it's sort of true."

We finally met up with Denise and Nick in the check-out line.

"We'll see you at school, Ishani!" Alysa explained before she and Christina left.

Denise looked to me and Joe.

"So, do you guys have everything?" she asked.

"Looks like it." I replied.

"Great."

Later that night, I found myself thinking about tomorrow, and school.

I then came to realize that I wouldn't know a single soul, except for Joe, Nick, Alysa, and Christina, but even then that's not so many.

It's not like I wanted a big group of friends, but I don't want to tag along with Joe, Nick, Alysa, and Christina forever.

"Ishani? You be asleep by now."

I jumped, and I heard chuckling.

"Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you."

I turned around to see Joe standing behind me.

"If I woke you up, I'm sorry....I'm just thinking about school..."

Joe nodded as he sat down at the edge of my bed.

"Nervous?" he asked.

"Sort of. Even if I do know you and Nick, and Alysa and Christina are nice, but I wouldn't know a single soul then. Do you think that's dumb?"

Joe shook his head.

"Of course not. I could remember being scared about the first day of preschool, and even before we became a band because we didn't know if we'd be good or not."

I gave him a half-smile.

"But, you're good now."

Joe smiled at me.

"Yeah, now. But, you shouldn't be worried. You'll make friends quickly because you're cool, Ishani."

I re-turned his smile.

"Thanks."

Joe got off of my bed.

"No problem. Good-night, Ishani."

"Good-night, Joe."
