Returning to You

Brian’s POV
We got to the studio and all piled in and now we were currently sat there listening to Jimmy trying to get this drum solo right. I looked over at Jess who was sat in a chair next to me and saw that she was looking at Jimmy fascinated and it made me smile to see her enjoying it considering most don’t, and usually leave or just sit there and complain though I should have known she wouldn’t do that.
Jess must have felt my stare upon her as she turned her head and smiled at me
“he really is quite good and you guys have to be pretty patient to go over this stuff over and over again” I chuckled
“there is no way any of us are patient but we want to get our music out there and if we have to play a song over and over to do it then we will” she nodded and asked
“so when do I get to see you play then?” I grinned and winked at her
“any time baby” she laughed
“no you horny devil, seriously?” I sighed and pouted a little before I answered
“well I don’t know when I’m finally gonna work on my parts but I know we’re playing a show next Friday so you can come to that, in fact I insist that you do or I’ll just come and kidnap you!” Jess laughed and again it played over my skin making tremors run through me, ahh the effect she has on me. I was startled though as was Jess when a loud bang came from the door to the studio as it was thrown open and we all looked over to see Michelle stood there in a designer pair of jeans and a top of her own design wearing heels which she couldn’t actually walk steadily on. She strutted into the room and commanded that everyone look at her and I rolled my eyes before I groaned and Jess’ eyes flicked over to me and she gave me a small reassuring smile as Val got to her feet and asked
“what are you doing here Michelle? I told you I would meet you when I was finished here” Michelle shrugged and tossed her hair over her shoulder
“I was bored so I came to spend some time with you, is that a crime sister?” she asked innocently but then her eyes flickered over to me and there was nothing innocent in that look. Then she caught sight of Jessica and she scowled and asked in a bitchy tone
“why is she here?” Val sighed and I looked at Jessica to see how she would react but she didn’t move, still holding that pleasant smile on her face in her ever polite way and she answered
“I was interested in what the guys were doing so I came and watched” Michelle sniffed
“hmm she can’t be trusted at all I mean she is a journalist after all”
“travel writing and journalism are two very different things Michelle as you would know if you read them” she answered in a polite tone though I could tell she was annoyed and I grinned as she insulted Michelle but Michelle being as she is stupidly asked
“why would I read that rubbish?” Jessica smiled and nodded
“ahh yes why should you, you wouldn’t be in them would you?” I tried hard not to laugh as Jess spoke in that calm voice still as she insulted her and Michelle finally cottoned on to the fact she was being insulted and she glared at Jessica and huffed and flounced over to a seat near me.
She sat down and looked at me from under her lashes and asked
“what are you doing right now Brian?” I raised a brow
“sitting here” Michelle smiled widely and twirled a piece of hair in what she must have thought was a cute way but really looked childish
“do you want to go to lunch with me?” I rolled my eyes
“no Michelle and you are going with Val anyway” Michelle’s eyes narrowed a moment before her gaze cut to Jessica who was once again watching Jimmy who hadn’t noticed Michelle come in, then returned to me and she hissed
“are you dating her now” I sighed
“no Michelle I’m not, not that it’s any of your business so butt out” Michelle looked taken aback but it soon turned to anger and she got to her feet and stomped over to Val demanding that they leave now and Val sighed and acquiesced, getting to her feet and looking at me apologetically but I waved it off as she left.
When they were gone I looked at Jessica who turned and looked at me and said
“walrus and after that rude behaviour, a baby walrus” I laughed and the guys looked at me with questioning faces and I shook my head and they went back to doing whatever.
We had ordered Chinese for lunch and Jessica had tried to teach us all how to use chop sticks properly but it didn’t work out then we had stayed on until Jimmy got two drum lines working for two songs and we called it a day.
Heading out to the parking lot Matt called Val to ask where she was and she informed him that Michelle was sat in a restaurant with her complaining about how I was treating her and then complaining about how Jessica was only after us for fame and all that crap. I know Jessica heard about that bit and I saw her frown, hurt, before she set her features into neutral again and when we reached the cars we all just stood there and Zacky asked
“so what do you guys wanna do? Food or home?” Jimmy leaned on his driver’s door and said tiredly
“home” Johnny shrugged
“food sounds good but I can get that at home” Matt sighed
“I have to go and get Val and deal with Michelle so I’m going home” Zacky nodded and I knew he wanted to go home so I said
“home it is guys, when we coming in tomorrow?” Matt ran a hand over his eyes and groaned
“fuck it I don’t care, 11ish?” we all nodded and everyone got in their cars though Matt and Zacky hugged Jessica goodbye there.
Johnny was dropped off then we headed to Jessica’s house, I could see her eyes drooping and her head would start to fall forwards before she woke herself, she must be really tired.
Coming up outside her house Jimmy pulled to a stop and Jess smiled at us and said in a sleep filled voice which made me wonder if she sounded like that when she just woke up, I would love to find out
“my stop guys, I’ll see you sometimes just give me a call or stop by anytime you want if you just wanna talk or something I don’t mind” we nodded and she leaned forwards and hugged Jimmy through the seat before she turned and hugged me then got out of the car and went up and around the house to the back where I knew her tent that she slept in was set up until she had the foundations on the house sorted out so that it wouldn’t fall down on her in the night.
Jimmy drove us home and getting out we made our way inside and collapsed on the sofas. Jimmy chuckled
“look at us, we look like old men so tired out” I laughed as well at the image and said
“speak for yourself, I’m never going to be old I’ll be grey maybe but never old” Jimmy nodded and bumped fists with me
“Amen to that, now how about a beer?” I nodded and he got up and came back with two opened beers and we sat there in our chairs drinking it. Jimmy was looking thoughtfully at the bottle in his hand, spinning it lightly before he stated
“you like her” I was taken aback by his words
“excuse me?” I said dumbly and he shot me a withering look
“you know what I mean, you like Jessica don’t you”
“she’s a good friend and I missed that these years” Jimmy nodded
“yeah I know that and I get it but you have more feelings for her than that” I shook my head
“I just like her as a friend though yeah she’s hot and has a great personality, I would date her in a heartbeat if I was looking to but I’m not, I just wanna be her friend right now Jimmy” Jimmy regarded me a moment before he nodded
“sounds good because lord knows you guys need to be friends, Oh and what is up with Michelle, can you say jealous!” I laughed at his change of subject and we talked about it for a while before we both headed up to bed where I dreamed of a certain brown haired beauty
