Returning to You

Jessica’s POV

“Brian are you ready yet honey?” I shouted up his stairs, I had walked through his front door moments ago to find him no where around
“yeah sure I just can’t find my keys!” he shouted back. Looking around me I saw the keys sitting in on the table by the door. I giggled to myself as I snatched them up before running up the stairs.
I leaned in the doorway while I watched Brian search his room for the keys, I smiled at the sight. Holding up the keys I asked
“is this what you were looking for?” he looked up quickly and seeing the keys in my hand a look of relief flooded his face. Coming over to me he pulled me in for a kiss as he took them from me
“thanks, where did you find them?” I grinned
“in the usual place, by the door” Brian groaned
“aww I am so dumb” I giggled and teased
“must be you’re secretly blonde” he rolled his eyes
“yes I dye my hair regularly” I fake gasped
“is that why you don’t let me in your bathroom cabinet?” Brian chuckled before he turned me around towards the stairs
“ok enough of this, we need to get to my dad’s” I did as instructed but said
“you know I live right next door to him, why did you insist on getting ready here?”
“so Suzy couldn’t walk over and demand that we get our asses in gear” I nodded in understanding as he locked the door before we climbed in the car and headed out.
I laughed at a joke Papa Gates told, I lightly slapped his arm
“Papa that was mean” he grinned back at me
“but you laughed” I giggled again
“well who wouldn’t at a joke about Brian’s hair” we shared a grin before joining in the rest of the conversation.
We were all sat around the table in the Haner’s dining room enjoying a meal Suzy made which included pie for dessert, I threatened to steal her form Papa Gates and he threatened me with his guitar and I relented but got Suzy to promise me that she would make me one every once in a while so I was happy.
Conversation flowed all night until McKenna asked Brian curiously
“when are you gonna ask her to marry you Brian?” the table fell silent as Brian and I stared at her open mouthed. We fumbled for some words that came out all jumbled making Suzy, Papa and McKenna laugh and the conversation changed again though Brian and I both had pink cheeks.
Waving good bye to them over the fence Brian and I entered my house where we made our way to the living room, shucking our jackets and shoes as we went.
We curled up on the sofa with me half in his lap and him with his arm around me. I sighed as I rested my head on his shoulder
“so tour soon then” I stated and Brian gave an answering sigh though he pulled me closer
“yeah, it’s gonna suck how much I’ll miss you” I nodded
“I’ll miss you too, but hey there is phone and internet and I’ll be coming out to some shows with the other girls I think” Brian nodded when I looked up at him
“yeah they have it planned already though they refused to tell us which shows you would be coming to” I giggled
“they wanted it to be a surprise, no doubt they know when they will start to miss you the most and planned them for then” Brian groaned
“so I have no idea? What about when we are missing you?”
“phone?”
“not as good as holding you baby” I looked up at him and smiled sweetly
“aww are you gonna feel neglected?” Brian nodded with a pout
“yeah, so lonely on the road” I smiled before I pulled myself around so I was straddling his lap, I wrapped my hands around his neck and he wrapped his around my waist. I smirked suggestively as I said
“well then, well have to give you some memories to take with you”
“fuck yeah” Brian growled as he pulled me down and captured my lips in a hungry, searing kiss.
It soon progressed and Brian carried me up the stairs to my room though a trail of clothes followed our wake
