Jessica’s POV
I groaned as I flopped down on the sofa and stretched my feet out.
I had just gotten back from the police station where I had given a statement and told them about the accident, they had sent someone to take pictures of my car which was still there and were going to file a report to find the car and it’s owner though they told me not to hold much hope as this kind of thing happens often without anyone being caught.
I was downhearted but I felt better knowing that they were at least being watched out for and hopefully wouldn’t do it again to me.
Brain had been fussing over me all of last night and the memory made me smile, in fact he entered the room now with a cup of coffee
“here you go, did it go ok?2 he asked though he should know from the many police run ins he’s had. I smiled at him and nodded as I accepted the cup
“yeah it was good to inform them though they told me not to put much hope of them catching the person” Brian frowned
“why?” I shrugged
“I only got the last three letters of the licence plate and there are more than one car with them, plus often they ditch the car after because of the damage” Brian growled
“they are so useless!” I laughed and pulled him towards me, kissing him which he returned fiercely
“babe they have other things to do ok, don’t blame them” Brain pouted
“but I want to” he said childishly, I shook my head again laughing before I asked
“where is Braden?” Brian grinned
“oh Dad came and took him for a little while” I smiled
“ahh getting him into guitar already is he?” Brian shrugged
“probably” I laughed
“then you had better get in there quick so he can learn the better way” Brain laughed and we talked a bit more.
I woke up gasping for breath which woke Brian up as well and he switched on the lamp before bringing me into his arms and asking concerned
“Jess? What’s the matter?” I moaned as I remembered the details of the dream and told him
“I dreamt that Braden was killed in the car crash” Brian frowned and hugged me tighter, rocking us back and forth
“it’s ok Jess, he is safe and sound ok so no need to worry”
“yeah but it could have happened, how could I have let something like that happen” I asked myself though Brian answered
“you didn’t let it happen someone else caused it, don’t feel bad about yourself” I groaned but nodded and Brain turned off the light again and just spent the rest of the morning holding me until we both passed out though I had to get up an hour later to tend to Braden.
