Your Hand In Mine

Fuck. Where was my phone? I could hear it, but I could not see the damn thing. And what time was it?

I groaned and went to sit up, but soon found there was a beautiful girl in my arm. My beautiful girl. As I looked down at her, I could not help but smile; she was all mine. And I know that when I ask her to be my girlfriend that it was sort of sudden, but I could not keep the word from coming out of my mouth. I was not entirely surprise that Shane said yes, but at the same time, I was.

I heard my phone going off again and finally figure out that I left it in the kitchen. I bet you it was Max calling to tell me how many girl he slept with last night. I 'ave told that guy so many time that I do not give a fuck, but he just did not seem to hear me. And it was an ongoing joke about the number of women I had slept with so far this season. That number is zero. Zero. What was wrong with that? I have had sex before, I am just not like Max. Some of them sleep with five girl a week, every week. Other only sleep with them if we won a game. They are all whores--excluding the guy that are married or have a girlfriend, and Sidney. It bug me that they were like that to women, but I could no do anything about it, so I just laugh along with them. They even had a sheet with tallies set up near the stick room so they could keep track of who's 'winning'. They had not figure out a prize yet, though.

My phone rang for at least the twelfth time before I decide that I was going to attempt to get up and answer this person at nine in the morning.

Shane's head was resting on my chest, and half of her body was draped across my stomach and leg while the other half was on the couch. I tried to shift my entire body out from under her, but she had other plan. She stirred a little bit and then turned so the side of her face was laying right above my heart and the front side of her was slightly on top of me. Her palm slid up my stomach and rested on my chest, right next to her face.

Whoever had wanted to talk to me, had finally stop trying to reach me, and I laid there for almost two hour, running my fingers through her brown hair and occasionally pushing a few stray strand behind her ear. I drew small circle on her upper arm and listened to her breathe, too. There was even a point in time when I just looked at her. I stared at the feature of her face, all of the freckle she had, her lips, and the way her hair was all over the place but didn't make her any less attractive. I looked farther down and let out a slight chuckle when I saw that she was still wearing the same shirt that I had destroy with pancake mix last night. She look gorgeous no matter what she was wearing. God, I think that I might.. love this girl. But it had not even been three month. Was it even possible to fall in love with someone in that amount of time?

I guess she must have heard or felt me laugh, because she opened one eye and look up at me. "What's so funny? I didn't drool, did I? Was I snoring?"

I laugh at how worried she was before I answered her. "I just think it is sort of funny we slept in these clothes."

"Oh," she said and took a look for herself, "I guess we should've changed, but it's too late now." She moved some hair out of her eyes before continuing "How long have you been awake?"

"About two 'our," I replied.

Her eyes went wide. "Why didn't you wake me up?"

"I did not want to. Plus, I know 'ow much you like to sleep in."

She gave me a smile then move her hand up to my jaw and stroke my cheek with her thumb for a moment before she place her lips on mine. I do not think I could ever get sick of this. She pulled away from me after a few second, and I saw her cheek turn pink. I leaned forward and gave her a few quick kiss on the lips, then I start to kiss all over her face. She laugh and then all of a sudden she was on the floor.

I look over the couch and started laughing at her.

She look up at me and pretended to glare. "This is not a laughing matter. I could've hit the coffee table and split my head open," she said, trying to sound serious, but failing.

I laugh even more and then stuck out my hand to help her up. She thank me and then started walking toward her bedroom, with me close behind her.

"Do you have practice today?" she ask, looking up from her dresser and over to the doorframe that I was leaning against.

"Nope. I do not 'ave to go to the rink at all today."

"Awesome. You want to hang out today? Or did you already make plans to do something with the guys?"

I smile over to her. She was already turning out to be the perfect girlfriend--someone who want to spend time with you, but understand that you might want to do something else, like bullshitting with your teammate for instance. Fuck the guy, I am spending the day with her. "I am all yours."

"Okay," she smiled. "I'm just going to get a quick shower, and then I guess we could go back to your place so you can change," she said as she shut the dresser drawer with her hip.

She walk over to me and kiss me on the lips. "Don't even think about cleaning up that mess," she told me, referring to the kitchen.

I smirked at her, and she turn around and walk into the bathroom to get a shower. I made my way to the kitchen and sigh when I saw what was sitting in front of me. This could take a while. I spotted my phone and pick it up. Eighteen miss call, nine unread text--all from Max. I dialed my voice mail and punch in my password.

"TANGER! This is like, the hundredth time I've tried calling you, Jesus. But guess what? I get to add two more tallies, I get to add two more tallies, I get to add two more tallies," he sang. "That's more than you'll get all season. I don't know how you do it, man." Then it was quiet for a good twenty second, and I could hear Staalsy's voice in the background. "Okay, I'm hanging up now because Gronk wants to go get pizza at nine in the morning. There's something wrong with him. Fucking crazy as-" And then the line went dead. The lady's voice came back and ask me what I want to do with the message. I deleted it and set my phone on the counter.

I sighed again and then start to clean up the mess. The first thing I did was put all of the dishes into the sink. Then I cleaned off all the counter and the floor. I was in the middle of looking for a rag to wash the plate and stuff when I heard her voice.

"The island, second drawer from the top. And I thought I told you not to touch any of this."

"Well, I felt bad. I was the one who start it all, you know," I said, looking up at her, and then opened the drawer and pull out a rag.

She shook her head at me before grabbing a rag herself. "You wash them, I'll dry them?"

"Okay," I told her.

We finished within ten minute, and she flick the remaining water on her hand at my face. I did the same to her and then put the last plate away.

"So, what are we doing?" I questioned.

"I don't know. Do you want to head back to your place and then just roam the city?" That did no sound like such a bad plan, actually.

"Oui. But only if I get to do your 'air, it look 'orrible." It really did not, but she did not have to know that.

"What?" she laugh.

"Come on, just let me do it."

"Fine. But if you make tons of knots, you're going to pay."

"It will look absolutely gorgeous, I promise," I said in a girly voice.

"I'm sure it will," she said and shook her head.

We walk into her bathroom, and she open a drawer with all of her hair stuff. She sat on the toilet, facing the shower, while I attempted to put her hair in pigtail. I did not have a clue as to what I was doing, seeing as I just let mine dry then put a hat on my head.

"Alright, I am finish. 'ow do it look?" I asked her.

She look in the mirror and let out a laugh. "On a scale of one to ten, three."

My jaw fell open. "I thought I did a pretty good job."

"Hate to break it to you, Kris, but they're not exactly even and this one's falling out," she said and point to the right side of her head.

"Are you still going to wear it like that?" I ask.

"Will it make you happy?"

"Oui, it will," I smiled.

"Then I'll leave it like this."

"Merci," I said and stuck my hand on her waist then gave her a kiss on the cheek. She blush and then slid out from my grasp and walk out of the bathroom. I followed her and wait by the front door while she grabb her stuff.

"Let's tumble," she said. I opened the door and let her walk out before me. She thanked me and then turn around to lock it. As we started to make our way toward her car, I grab her hand, lacing our finger together. We drove back to my place, and I got a shower and change. When I found Shane, she was looking out at the city through a window.

"Ready?" I ask her.

She smirk at me. "Not quite," she answer, sounding like she had something up her sleeve. I ran a hand through my hair and look at her, waiting for her to continue. "Can I do your hair?" she said, almost mocking me about earlier.

"Will it make you 'appy?" Two can play at this game, Shane.

"Yes, it will," she laugh.

I turned and walk to the bathroom while she follow me. I pointed to a shelf that had a few different type of hair gel. "Oh, no," she said with a shake of her head and a devilish smile. "We're not using that crap."

She took one of the clip I stuck in her hair out, and then she took off my hat. "Bend you knees a little, you're too tall," she order me.

"Is this going to take long?"

"Nope," she sang. Shane ran her finger through my hair and let it fall in front of my eyes. She stuck the bright pink clip in between her lips and then just look at me and laugh. Then she grabbed the middle of my hair that was hanging in my face with her hand and pull it upward. She brushed that little part, move her hand toward the back of my head, and stuck the clip in. She took a step back and seem satisfied with my appearance. "Done," she said.

I turned my head and look in the mirror, and my mouth fell open. "What did you do?" I asked her, horrified.

"I gave you a poof," she smirked.

"You gave me a poof?" I repeated as I look at her.

She nod her head. "Girls do it all the time."

"Well, I am not a girl, am I?" I laugh.

"No, but you sure can rock that look."

I sigh and shook my head. "This is ridiculous."

"Yeah, but you still love me," she joked. If only you knew, Shane..

I shook my head. "Are you ready now?"

"Yup. You?"

"Oui."

She shut off all the light, I locked the door, and then we both walk outside.

I walked over to where she had park the car, but she was not walking to it. In fact, she was walking in the other direction. I shook my head and then ran to catch up to her. "Where are we going?"

"Wherever we want," she said, head lifted toward the sky and a smile on her face.
