Dead in the Water

Let's Have A Wedding

(Nonnie’s POV)

Glass shattered around me as a hand came through the window. It immediately grabbed me pulling me through the broken glass. I tried to fight back, but none of my hits seemed to make much of a difference. Gerard picked me up bridal style.

“Frank!” I screamed. I tried to look around, but my neck hurt.

“Don’t worry sugar, he’s not dead yet. I want you to do the honors once you are changed.” Gerard whispered across my mind.

“Put her down!” I heard Erelin say.

“Back for more little slayer girl? You brought more of your little friends.” He placed my feet on the ground just long enough for him to snap his fingers and then he lifted me back into his arms. “Have fun playing with my friends. We have to be going.”

Vampires came from every direction. I couldn’t let Gerard take me. I know this. If he succeeded I would become one of the things I despise most. I summoned all the strength I had left and started hitting Gerard where ever I could. “Non I don’t want to hurt you, but if you don’t stop I’m going to have to stop you.” He let his fangs slide out. My heart rate sped up. I reached into my back pocket and pulled out the last stake.

“I’m so sorry Gerard.” I said. I saw the puzzled look on his face as I brought the stake out. I almost did it, but he dropped me so the stake stabbed him in the stomach instead of the heart.

“Bitch,” he said. He kicked me in the stomach and I flew across the ground. “I offer you the world and you try to kill me?” A smile came to his face. “I knew you would make the perfect bride.”

He started walking back toward me. I knew I couldn’t fight anymore. I didn’t have to though. Pete, Martin, Brendon, Erelin, and Frank came to stand in front of me. “I’ll catch you later sugar,” he said then he turned and started running. Erelin started after him, but Frank stopped her.

“Another time.” Frank said. Then he came over and picked me up. “We definitely gotta get you some more training.” He said carrying me to the car. I just gave a slight nod. I was hurting all over and Gerard had taken way too much of my blood.

“Frank you have to bite her, he has control of…”

“I can’t she’s lost too much blood from him. If I do I could lose control she could die.” I could hear the remorse in his voice. “We’ll just have to keep an extra close eye on her.” He sat me in the passenger’s side seat of his car and drove off toward the hospital. “You actually did what I asked you to.”

“You asked nicely,” I said, I was tired and in pain, but I smiled. No matter how bad I felt he could always make me smile.

“I used to make you smile too Sugar.” Gerard said in my head. He started singing like he used to. His voice lulling me to sleep.

When I opened my eyes I wasn’t in the car anymore I was standing in the most extravagant gown I’ve ever seen. It was black silk it was long and flowing out behind me. My hair fell long way below my shoulders in lose curls and I held a bouquet of black roses.

“Frank?” two huge doors opened in front of me.

“Come to me,” Gerard said standing at the alter.

I willed my legs not to move, but the didn’t listen and I moved down the isle toward him. I looked into the pews on both sides, everyone one was a vampire. I saw my friends all of them were bloody and mutilated. I clinched my eyes closed, but my feet kept moving.

Then I was standing beside Gerard and he handed me a stake. Frank was lying on a table tied down. He looked at me with pleading eyes. Gerard moved so that he was behind me. His arms wrapped around my waist and he pulled me back against his body. then slowly started kissing down my neck till her reached my shoulder. “Do it for us.”

“No!” I yelled tears streaming down my face as my hand raised over Frank’s chest holding the stake.

“Nonnie…don’t…” he pleaded. Gerard’s hand covered mine on the stake.

“Let me help you.” he said. Then he pushed my hand down stabbing Frank in the heart. I screamed out as though I had been the one hurt as Frank turned to dust.

“Now it’s time.” He let me go for a moment, but I still couldn’t move. I watched him cut his wrist. Then he moved it up so that it was right in front of my lips at the same time he tilted my head and sunk his teeth into my neck. Then he put his wrist on my lips. Rubbing his blood across them. The metallic taste disgusted me, but I couldn’t get enough…

“Nonnie, please wake up!” I heard Frank saying. I pealed my eyes open. I was still in the car. We had arrived at the hospital.

“Frank.” I whimpered his name. “Don’t let me fall asleep.” I didn’t want to tell him that I had killed him. I had done whatever Gerard wanted me to do and I couldn't stop myself.

“It’s okay.” Frank said lifting me from the car. “I won’t let him hurt you.”

“It’s not me that I’m worried about.” I thought. I heard Gerard's evil laugh erupt in my head. I held on tighter to Frank as he carried me into the hospital.
