Dead in the Water

Swear To Shake It Up

(Amanda's POV)

I wandered aimlessly around town. There weren't that many vampires that I had come across and it had me worried. I mean, yeah, killing less vampires is great but it also gets me wondering if Ian isn't behind this. He doesn't like to leave big messes in the towns he visits according to Elissa.

That was another thing on my mind. I couldn't find my sister. I couldn't track her. I did start to feel another familiar presence.

I ran down an alley to see Pete fighting off a rogue gang of vampires. I counted to see he was outnumbered by six. I was glad to see he was out hunting. It meant that he was here to find Elissa as well.

"Mind if I join boys?" I said distracting the vampires.

"Amanda?" Pete asked before he was hit in the jaw.

I jumped right into the fight and Pete and I both started to kick vampire ass. One vampire had managed to flip me onto my back but I did a kick which sent him flying straight into Pete who had a stake out in his hands. Needless to say the vampire was toast.

"Pete, duck!" I said throwing my stake at a vampire behind him.

"Thanks." He replied. "We make a good team." He smiled.

We finished off the other vampires and dusted ourselves off. "It wasn't like I couldn't handle it but I am glad you showed up." Pete replied.

"Please. You were getting your ass handed to you, but you are welcome." I smiled. "When we find my sister, you owe me dinner big time." I said.

"Is that so?" He asked laughing.

"Yeah, I always get the munchies after a big kill. I want a Ruby burger with the works, onion rings, and a cherry coke to boot. When I say cherry coke not this crap out of a two liter but a coke with real cherry syrup too." I added.

"Well, if that is all you demand, then Ruby's diner it is." He laughed.

"Any leads?" I asked.

"No. You?" He asked.

I told him about capturing Mikey and about that situation. We walked awhile before stopping to lean on a car. We had no idea where Elissa was being held at or by whom.

All of a sudden we were ambushed by some of Gerard's men again but this time, Gerard was a coward for not showing up. We were heavily outnumbered. Just when I thought that we were going to get our butts kicked a familiar voice spoke.

"Did you guys miss me?" Elissa said as Pete's and my mouth dropped open.
