Dead in the Water

"It is nice to see that I am loved." I said seeing as how Amanda and Pete apparently had been out looking for me.

"I am so glad to see you." Amanda said.

"What am I?" Pete said rolling his eyes as we three fought off the vampires.

"Where were you?" Amanda asked.

"How did you get away?" Pete asked.

"Well, I shall explain once we get out of here." I said not wanting to talk about Micah right away.

"Things are different back home." Amanda said as she killed a vampire.

"What happened? Is Mikey and Nonnie ok? Did you save Mikey?" I asked.

"Well, we will explain when we get out of here." Pete replied staking a vampire.

I heard Pete yell, "Look out!"

It was too late. A vampire had hit me from behind with a crowbar over my right shoulder blade sending me flying towards the ground. Pete got caught up with a vampire and so was Amanda. I grabbed my shoulder and turned around on the ground trying to dodge the next blow when I saw the vampire in front of me staked from behind. Then, I saw Micah.

"I thought that you could use some help. I am glad I came." Micah said helping us all to fight off the vampires.

"You? You had my sister?" Amanda asked defensively and stepping in front of me.

"Elissa?" Pete asked shocked.

"Pete, it isn't what it looks like. I promise. I am telling the truth." I pleaded. I was telling the truth. Nothing happened. I chose Pete.

"Your sister was hurt pretty bad, Amanda. She would have died if I had not found her. I did some minor surgery and she woke up. Pete, you have nothing to fear. Elissa is telling the truth. Nothing happened between us." Micah spoke up.

"I still don't care. I know you probably tried to take advantage of her and I don't like that!" Pete said baring his fangs out and lunging at Micah.

"Pete, stop!" I yelled as Amanda and I tried to pry them apart.

"Micah why do you have to follow me? I told you I am not interested." I said after we pryed the boys apart. Pete had a bloody lip.

"Why can't it be like it used to be?" Amanda asked.

"Why can't you just be friends with us? Micah we moved on with our lives. Stop living in the past." Amanda said.

"Try telling Elissa that the next time she wants to run from her problems." Micah said hurrying off.

"What did he mean by that?" Pete asked.

"He meant about Ian and no I am not running this time from my problems as I have said." I told him as we found our way to a busy street and hailed a cab.

"I trust you." Pete whispered in my ear once we were in the cab. I wanted to show him what happened to me but I knew that it was going to have to wait. Still, it made me happy to hear those words from Pete.
