Dead in the Water

Moving In

(Two Months Later)

(Amanda's POV)

It had been so crowded at my apartment that I finally decided to move out and into Martin's apartment. Erelin hated that I was moving out but with her and Brendon joined at the hip what else coulfd I do? Besides I couldn't let Joe and Bev keep sleeping on the couch so I packed up my things and gave them my room.

"I am so happy that you decided to finally move in with me." Martin whispered in my ear as he took my bags.

"Is that so?" I grinned.

"Well, it only took you two months to decide. I guess you couldn't tolerate the overcrowding anymore?" Martin laughed.

"Shush you." I said as we walked to his bedroom so I could start to unpack my things.

I had pushed the fear into the back of my mind that Martin was either keeping something from me or was cheating on me. Things between us have been wonderful ever since he was released from the hospital two months ago and I wanted to keep it that way. I also have been feeling the healthiest I have ever felt, and I owe it to Martin. He brings me happiness.

Things have been quiet these past two months also. Ian has not been seen or heard from. The vampires that have been caught and killed have not seen or heard from Ian as well. All of us knew to be on our guard in case he was planning a new attack but we were all happy that he has managed to temporarily disappeared for the time being.

"I thought about making dinner for you tonight and have some wine to celebrate your new home." Martin replied taking my clothes I had just unpacked out of my hands and spinning me around.

"I thought that you couldn't eat?" I asked getting lost in his amazing eyes.

"I don't but I may have some wine." He grinned.

Martin knocked off all of my things onto the floor and then picked me up and placed me onto the bed. "Are you trying to seduce me Mr. Johnson?" I asked trying hard not to laugh.

"Would I do that?" He asked as he kissed from my left ear all the way down to my neck and then onto my lips leaving me breathless.

A few hours later I woke up to his cell phone going off. I was locked in Martin's arms and our bodies were intwined under the sheets. I smiled. Today had been one of the best days of my life. I was with the man I am in love with and nothing could ruin this moment except of course a phone call.

"Sorry babe, I better get that." Martin said reaching over to his side of the bed and making me uncomfortable.

"Do you have to? You were my pillow you know." I said frowning. He kissed me and then answered his cell.

"Frank, what a surprise. Is there something wrong?" Martin asked.

Frank has been calling Martin almost every other day of the week. Nonnie has been bugging him to call us. If he doesn't then she shows up at my apartment dragging me out for a girls night out which is usually slaying. And since there isn't much slaying going on, she has been driving me insane.

"Babe, Frank wants to know if you want to go out to the movies tonight with him and Nonnie." Martin asked.

"But I thought that you were cooking me dinner tonight and I still have to unpack." I said looking at the mess on the floor of all my things we knocked off Martin's bed.

"We can go to a late show after we eat." Martin said.

"Ok." I sighed giving in.

Martin hung up the phone then wrapped me in his arms again. Now, where were we again?" He asked.

"Don't you find it weird how Frank and I don't see eye to eye on alot of things but yet he manages to always call us? I think Nonnie is up to something. She has been driving me nuts lately." I said with Martin laughing.

"Maybe she justs wants the two of you to get along." He laughed. I just stared at him.

"Relax. I am sure after what happened two months ago she just wants to make sure that you are ok." Martin said.

"Yeah but almost every day? She is driving me crazy!" I said.

"Maybe tonight you ought to say something to her then but Amanda, do it in a polite way." Martin laughed.

"I'm always polite." I replied.
